Husband loves these! Has been hiking/working in pants & shorts from Sam's. Finally convinced him to try a better quality. They had a pair of these in resupply and we took a chance. Now he owns 3 pair, with more to be purchased, no doubt. He loves the pockets - especially the zippered ones for hikes. the articulated knees make it so he can hike in comfort but also work with ease (window washer). they are certainly 4 season pants for him here in NE Georgia. they dry quickly and are well made. he wears them to hike and when we go out. nice rugged pants that also look really good on!!!
I’ve been wearing nothing but prAna Zion Slims for a year, but I’m always looking to see if there’s something that can beat them. These have a similar fit and match the Zions in several areas, but miss one mark I can’t compromise on: comfort. There are some weird stitches on the legs; I’m not sure if they’re just aesthetic or if they’re meant to increase the durability/stretch, but the stitches are exposed on the inside of the pant and rub my thigh raw as I move. The one of the right side is particularly egregious and creates a weird divot where the stitches terminate. The fabric is also significantly louder than the Zions, particularly the new softer ReZions, and it sounds like I’m walking around in a tarp.
Convenient pockets to put iPhone in while hiking; very comfortable, fits well! My husband loves this pants and he bought another pair!
I bought these pants for my Camino de Santiago trip. These pants covered almost 500 miles in heat, cold, and rain. Extremely comfortable and lightweight. I was caught in the rain a few times and loved how quickly they dried. Side note, but appreciated, was all the many compliments I these pants received. I'm actually planning to purchase two more of these.
Although these pants are marketed as strong durable pants, they have been the complete opposite for me. I have gone through two pairs in about the same number of months. The first pair ripped at the knee stitching the first time I wore them on a hike. The second pair seems to have ripped through the butt while just sitting on some rocks at a lake. They are very comfortable and true to fit, but the fact that they are $100 and far less durable than $20 pants I've bought before means I cannot and will not recommend KUHL to anyone I know. One rip is a fluke. Two is such a short amount of time is bad quality.
Kuhl Men's Renegade Rock Pants Rock! Comfortable, durable and flexible. Wore these to climb 14'ers and outdoor rock climbing. Temps ranged from mid-30's to mid-50's and 65 mph winds at summits. The pants were great and sizing is totally accurate. P.S. I am a woman and prefer the fit of Kuhl's men's pants (I own the Renegade and the Silencer) and would recommend both.
Office, field, mountain, & trail you can beat them till your tired and they just get more comfortable. I’m constantly in and out of the field with these but they still look slick in some dress shoes and a polo in the office! I rarely leave the house without something of this brand on my person and you just can’t break them unless your trying to. Between these and my arctyrex I can’t decide which is better or last longer I guess I will just have to wait and see. I’m no small fry either short legs long torso and all their sizes fit true. Thanks Kuhl there is no doubt you were BORN IN THE MOUNTAINS!
I know it's not what these were made for, but I have 5 pairs of these that I use for cycling in the city in SoCal and they work great. I'm not a fan of form fitting bike kit so I had to hunt around for more casual looking clothes which were designed for the crotch to take a lot of wear and for me to sweat a LOT. I ride pretty much daily and these are holding up great after about a year. My only complaint is that I had to switch detergents to something made for synthetics, because they REALLY hold onto B.O. if you don't clean them right, but I've had similar problems with other synthetic clothes I bought, and I think I'm just a stinky dude.
Great all around pants. Wore them for a week in the Eastern Sierras, climbing and hiking. Really roomy without looking too baggy, and a great amount of functional pockets. These are my new favorite pants.
I bought these pants for my first backpacking trip. As soon as these arrived i tore the package open, stripped down, put these bad boys on and haven't looked back since. I could live in these pants.5'9 and 155lb the 30x30 fit great. I could have gone more versatile, cooler for the northern California summer... But I loved the stretch and presentation of these pants. They have vented side pockets, I kept them open and sinched the cuffs up to my calfs for the heat of the day. Hiked 17 miles in these and they were awesome. thes pants preform on the trail as much as they look good back in town at the local brewery.
