This is the Best
I went to the store and checked out all the solar powered lanterns, this is the best. Three shades of white, and a candle mode. All the colors of the rainbow. Solar and USB powered. Haven’t really pushed the limits of the battery life, but seems good so far.

Great at first but don't last
Really loved these, bought one at a time until I ended up with four as of about two years ago. Gave others as gifts. Of the four I own, now only one fully works. One turns on then goes off a few seconds later. The other two will not turn on at all.

Still going strong 4+ years later

I got this lantern in fall 2019. I have used it on every single backpacking, ski mountaineering, and car camping trip. It’s incredibly reliable considering it’s lightweight, folds flat, and is 100% solar powered. It’s hard to believe I’ve never had issues with it turning on or off or holding power throughout the night even when recharging during PNW cloudy days. For its size, weight, power performance, recharge rate and party vibes with the changing colors, I can’t imagine what other lantern I’d want or need. Truly an item I love and never leave at home.

incredibly tough

Love these lanterns. They create an ambiance at camp that really makes it look and feel great. Not only that, they are tough! I had two charging on my hood when my dads dog took off down the trail running after his truck. I jumped in my FJ Cruiser to chase her down and forgot about the lanterns. When I realized they were missing I went back searching and found them mostly buried in the sand with multiples tire treads clearly visible on them. They were scratched up and filthy having been run over at least once and yet after a quick rinse still work like new. Highly recommend and my kids love the colors.

Set up your campsite like a dance club

If you're like me and need a little disco in your camping, you'll love this light. It does the usual white-light high/medium/dim thing, but it also has a multicolor function. You can have a red light for saving your night vision, or whatever other color of the rainbow you might be needing at the moment. It will also fade through the colors, for that real party atmosphere. The other nice thing is that it seemed to hold a charge for a really long time. We left one hanging in our tent and somehow it got enough light during the day to work for long periods after dark. I never had to actively try to charge it. I bought these for camping but I'm going to use them for everything.

Low light output, not great usability design

While it's fine for inside the tent, outside it doesn't generate that much light- even at the highest setting which only lasts 3 hours. It's also a bit tedious to use because it only has one tiny button that supports on/off , 4 normal modes , and several more color modes. E.G. to turn it off from bright setting you have to click it 3 more times- but don't click too fast otherwise you will enable color mode which has another pattern to be shut off. Cramming everything into one button seems to be common on a lot of multi-function lanterns and I hate it here as well. On the pro side, it's rechargeable, relatively inexpensive , very light ,and flat, so I can see why a lot of people may be happy with it.

Still going after nightly use at home about 5 yrs

I bought this about 5 years ago for camping (before they added the multiple colors) but it ended up being my daily (nightly) go-to light by my bedside. I can quickly hit the button 3 times to get to the lowest setting if I wake up during the night, it’s light and easy to carry to the bathroom or elsewhere, and it has lasted and lasted over hundreds of charges (plug-in, not solar). I love this little lantern even though I don’t use it for camping much. My only complaint is that the handle broke in half after about a year and a half and there’s no way to attach a rope or anything to it, so it’s handle-less.

Great Lightweight Lantern with 1 Caveat

I've got 2 of these crush lights. Purchased for lightweight property and rechargeable. I've now used them for nearly 8 months (20+ camping days) and they work really well. The charging is straightforward. The solar takes about 5+ hours in really bright sunlight to mostly charge. I use a Goal Zero Sherpa to quick charge it in the alternative. The bright white setting is quite bright and harsh at night. I prefer the warm yellowish light (med) for tent lighting. 1 Caveat = As an overhead lantern, the LEDs are too harsh. Even on the lowest setting, they are too harsh. Either tape some diffusing material or clip so it is aimed away from you. In a 2 person tent, inversion results in the majority of the light being directed away. I will prop it on the ground and have the opening directed to a tent wall for a more diffuse glow. However, this runs down the battery.

Not very bright, broken, but good?

I used this recently on a camping trip in hopes that I would be able to use it as a diffuses light source at the entry of my tent. It wasn’t all too bright, however, it served as a great marker while away from the tent in the dark. I’m a huge fan of red mode because I camp next to rivers a lot and bugs aren’t as attracted to red light. It’s also awesome as a night light outside the tent entrance. I left it in red mode and it’s brightness is not abrasive, meaning that I was unbothered by it while falling asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night to “take a walk” and I was able to easily locate it, switch it into bright mode to guide me to a reasonable place to use the relieve myself. The broken part: The hoop that you use to hang the light is terribly under built. It broke on the first outing with barely any force.
