I really like this jacket. I’m petite (5’4”, 105 lbs) and tend to run cold, so I wanted something genuinely warm for skiing. Shell-style jackets don’t work well for me—even with layers—because I don’t retain body heat easily. This jacket is extremely comfortable, warm, and breathable. It’s not a slim, resort-style cut, and it doesn’t cover your butt the way some longer shells do—but that’s exactly what I wanted, and I’ve been really happy with how it performs. I bought it in white, which looks amazing, but it does stain easily. That’s my only caution.
As a downhill skier living in Montana, I need a really warm, windproof and waterproof jacket, because we get a huge variety of weather! This jacket hits all those marks and more. I love the light blue color as well. Reviews mentioned that the jacket is loose fitting and that is true, but I don’t mind because it is truly a WARM jacket. Having a small ski pass pocket on the sleeve is super handy, as I can also fit a protein bar in it for those days when the snow is way too good. If I could change anything, I’d add two outside pockets to the chest of the jacket and I’d move the powder skirt lower. (As it is, it sits at the waist. I think these work better when they sit at the hip.)
Just got this jacket and LOVE it! Sad so many others had poor experiences because I think it’s the best jacket ever. I am usually a large but easily fit in a medium with room for sweater under it. I was never cold and I ski in New England! I love the short fit on it and the high neck /collar area that others complained about is fabulous as it covers your face well but you don’t feel smothered either. I get cold in my HH coat and this one was warm the whole day even with negative temps!
I wanted to love this jacket, it was so warm it was like wearing a sleeping bag, but the fit was extremely unflattering. I typically wear an XS, but with ArcTeryx jackets these days I'm an XXS, I order both sizes to compare. Both jackets were too short in the front, when I lifted my arms overhead my waist was exposed (even with the powder skirt snapped). It fit boxy and wide and felt like it was swallowing me whole. I’m not sure who this jacket was designed for, but they missed the mark.
I am very pleased with this jacket. I bought it to replace a 12-year-old Andessa jacket that I loved. This jacket offers the same warmth, insulation & windproofing while being roomier, allowing room for additional layering in extreme temperatures with greater freedom of movement. The only thing that could be improved is the snow skirt - it’s a bit flimsy; rides up, doesn’t stay in place.
I do not like it. It is not comfortable- especially the part near the face and the bottom. Too Michelin style also…You look twice your size. Expected better value for the price
I wore this in sub negative degrees to ski last week and I was so warm. It was very insulated and great for skiing in very cold conditions.
This is hands down the warmest jacket I’ve ever owned. Love the cozy fit. Nothing I would change about it!
