Fit not what I expect for this brand and price
I owned a pair of Santana many years ago and loved them. These--though cute--fell short of expectations. I always order a half-size larger for boots to enable wearing of wool socks (not necessary heavy hiking socks, just cozy wool socks). That has always worked for size, but not this time. The toe length was fine, but even after loosening the laces, the boots felt too snug around the top of my foot with a pair of "dress" Smartwool socks on. Additionally, when walking around the house in them, my heel kept rising, which is not a good sign. Finally, the extra padding in the calf resulted in the inside zippers rubbing up against each other now and then. Overall, there are just too many glitches for a boot of this price, so this is going back. The tread looks like it would be good, but I'm opting for the Kamik Snovalley, which is half the price (and another Canadian brand).
Cool boot except for sizing
Loved this boot. Colors great , well made! The sizing runs extremely small. I ordered the biggest size available and it was too small for my size 10 foot. Returned boot
Nice and warm
Nice and warm, Love these boots. Bought these boots a month ago and I’ve been wearing them every day. They are so comfortable. Everybody that sees them really likes the look also.
Beautiful and well made
These boots are amazing. Very well made (in Italy) with nice attention to detail. I just received these so I haven’t field tested them yet, but I’ve had another pair of Santana boots for 20 years and they’re still in great condition. I normally wear a 8.5 in Keens and the Santana size 9 fit me well with the addition of Dr Scholls half inserts for more arch support and a snugger fit in the heel (as I have done with other boots such as Blundstones). The combination of the zipper and laces makes it easy to get in and out of the boots, but I did find that I needed to re-tie the laces even when I use the zipper. The zipper is lined with a satin placket (not sure if that’s the correct term) which is a nice detail. There are no openings to let the snow sneak in. I was a little nervous ordering these boots based on some of the other reviews but so far I am very impressed and anticipate that these boots will perform well.
Comfy cozy boots
These fit really well. I've tried on a lot of boots recently and these pleasantly impressed. The side zipper is great. Seemed cozy. The only caveat I have, and this isn't the fault of the boot at all, is that I was looking for something that could dress up a little easier. These fall pretty firmly in the casual/sporty category. From the photo I had hoped it might be more flexible. If that's not a concern for you, give these a try!
Run small
Well, I thought I would take my chances and order a size 8. I had read other reviews about them running small, but I thought I might get lucky, I sometimes wear a 7 1/2. I wasn't lucky, they were small. I returned them. Pretty boot, too small.
