Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches.
Measure hand circumference: Measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with fingers together; do not include your thumb. Measure hand length: Measure from the crease at the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.

Warm mitten, good quality
As others have mentioned, the sizing listed online makes it hard to find sizing. Fortunately for me, I was able to buy in the store and find a size based upon fit. Attached is a photo the XS next to a tape measure for reference. The mittens are very warm, durable and water proof for us. Like most waterproof mittens, the part that keeps your kids hands dry is inside the shell. They shell seems more water resistant that other kids waterproof mittens we have used in the past. After a good time out playing, the kids hands are always dry and warm. The shell quickly dries out and ready for the next adventure. The palm has great grip and is very durable. It shows no signs of wear after all the use they have seen so far. If you can confirm a good fit I highly recommend these mittens.
Great mittens but sizes are WAY OFF
We live in Madison, Wisconsin and I wanted some nice mittens for my 2 girls. One just turned 3 and the other 8. I measured both their hands as per the instructions on the size chart and ordered gloves accordingly. I ordered a large for my 8 year old and a small for my 3 year old and they were huge on both of them. I put the small on my 8 year old and it fit perfect. My 5'6" wife with good sized hands tried on the large and they fit her. Not sure how a kids large fits an adult?? 3 year old measurements: 5" circumference / 4.5" length - small is gigantic on her 8 year old measurements: 5.5" circumference / 5.5" length - large is gigantic on her - small fits her 38 year old wife's measurements: 7.5" circumference / 7.25" length - large just fits her The size chart is obviously way off and needs some recalibration. Now to find much smaller gloves for my 3 year old and to return the gigantic kids large. The gloves look like they are made well and are exactly the kind of glove I wanted for both of my girls. Would be a 5 star if the sizes were even close to accurate.
Unfortunately not waterproof as advertised
We bought these mittens last season for my son and had to replace them with another pair mid-ski season as these ones would be SOPPING wet midway through a day on the slopes. It made for some miserable ski days. Very disappointed as they are advertised to be waterproof.
sizing is good
We were in a pinch and REI had exactly what we needed. 6.5 y.o. with 6'' hand circumference and L size was spot on. It was warm enough in 0-3 degree skiing, tho I used warmers as well. it's super good mitten for $35.
Excellent Value & Performance
My daughter (8) wears these daily for snow play at home & school. We have survived one of the snowiest winters on record as well as temps -30 F. These gloves have performed very well in all conditions.
Cozy, good for 30-50 degree cold
The gloves did well overall. They have been worn in relatively Bunche weather, 40 degrees. I am skeptical as to how they would perform in colder.
look great quality but sizing is off
I used the sizing chart, measured my son's hands carefully, but these are waaaay too big, so they are going back.
Versatile
Waterproof 5/5 Cold weather 5/5 Warm weather 5/5 ( has vents)
