Leatherman Wave Plus just works
To fully appreciate your Leatherman you must understand it’s purpose. It isn’t meant to replace your tools but rather have an option when tools aren’t readily available, with that being said the Leatherman Wave Plus has proven itself a a reliable durable well made piece of equipment which can last you a lifetime if you take proper care and know it’s limits. Having owned an original PST with Portland OR stamp from the early eighties (still have it with leather case) I decided finally to retire that well made tool and upgrade to the Wave Plus. The knife is razor sharp as well is the saw and I found I have “need” for a handy pair of scissors more often than I thought. I was skeptical about the small Phillips bit but again it has been keenly designed to just simply work. As for the pliers, I can say without a doubt, they have out preformed another multi tools brand I own hands down ten times over and twice on Sunday. I would recommend this particular model, I’m sure other models have their kudos but I can’t speak to those.

Leatherman Wave+ quality
The wave+ seems to be a b grade product from leatherman. Fittings don't look tight, small metal dusts blob mixed with sharpening oil was found on pliers jaws. Wonder why it's sold for 20% discount. Will return.

My first quality multi-tool. Simply awesome!

After realizing I always need a tool and never have one with me, I decided to start daily carrying a multi-tool. Lots of research later, the Wave+ was hands down the recommended one from site after site and expert reviews. It covers all the basic needs, and is proven and does it well. In the mean time I had ordered the “copy” from a big box store to see if it would suffice for the lower cost....so I had a chance to compare with both in hand. It was clear there was no comparison in the attention to detail and build quality of the Wave. Bought the pocket clip and now happy to carry this beast!

Great tool at a fair price

After several months with this model I am very pleased with the Wave Plus. The one handed access to blades without having to open the pliers is a great feature. Safety locking is intuitive and effective. The tool selection isn't 'kitchen sink', but then again I wasn't looking for something that would do EVERYTHING, just one that would handle my most common chores. The Wave Plus does this handily. The ergonomics are a big improvement over my old (and I mean OLD) original Leatherman! The quality of construction seems excellent, and the blades are really sharp. The scissors are tight and effective. The wire cutters have been extremely handy. A great package!

Wonderful tool, perfect for work

Love the difference in features in this as opposed to some of the cheaper leathermans. The fact that you can slide the blade out with one hand is wonderful instead of happening to open up the tool also the grips on this one do not hurt when using the pliers, I've had that issue with one of the other models but I returned that one for this model, shoutout to the Southlake, TX REI their staff were wonderful returning the old model and purchasing this one. Has become my EDC for work and its nice to not have to go back to the work truck for tools :)

Wave plus and Leatherman warranty

I have had a Wave or Wave plus for 15 years. It does everything I need plus things I don’t. It gets used everyday, I have had 2 small issues over those 15 years. I send the tool in for repair and it comes back brand new. Amazing warranty. Looking at getting a Surge or Free P4 to get a different experience. Kudos to REI for carrying this product and accessories.

Serious multi tool which is still pocketable

I keep this in the buttoned enclosure that comes with the tool and it is still pocketable. I’m coming from a small Swiss Army knife so I had concerns and was also considering the skeletool but the pliers on this one are bombproof. The scissors come in handy for cutting tenacious tape patches and both knives (serrated and non) are super sharp.

Can't live without it !!!!!

I do maintenance and literally would drive back home if I forgot this tool. The Leatherman is the absolute best Super tool. I got the Wave Plus and I use it at least twenty times a day. I have the case that you can add the extra bit holder behind the tool. The bit holder can only hold one of the plastic bit holders so I picked the most used bits and carry those with me. I would recommend getting the bit extender as it helps get into tighter areas. Be careful if you put the bit extender in the little sleeves in the case because it will fall out ( I lost mine). I carry a tiny LED light in the case too and it seems to stay put ( it's an absolute must on the light because a cell phone light isn't good enough ). Even if you don't have a job in the construction world anyone would love this tool. It's a bit heavy to wear but if your wearing jeans and a belt than you will get used to it. If you wear dress type clothes this would be way too bulky. You can always carry it in your vehicle. I love the fact that you can access the blades without opening the tool and trust me they come razor sharp. The replaceable cutter for wire is a great upgrade and much needed. This tool is not over priced as you will fall in love with it and use it daily. I've told many people that if you want to get someone a present that they will actually use, get them one of these. I've had a Leatherman for probably 35 years and they make Quality products. Hope this helps.
