Copper Rough & Tough
These are my favorite Red Wing boots/shoes. I own many. The leather smells AMAZINGGGG...the best out of their leathers, in my opinion. Mine have zero defects and I purchased them directly from a Red Wing dealer. 2 months of wear 2-3 times a week for 9 hour work days where I do a lot of cement walking. I brush them once a week and have conditioned them once (using Red Wing products). The scuffs disappear and minus the wrinkles they look brand new after a nice brush. In the pictures I posted, I didn’t brush them but I did dust them. There was little break in and the break in was mostly in the width, aside from them shaping to my foot and ankle. On the Brannock tool my left foot measures at a 5 and my right foot at a 5.5. I purchased these in a 6.5. Lengthwise I definitely have a thumbs width worth of room. I enjoy the room and my feet feel secure. However, I could have purchased a 6 and also been happy, in time, after the boots stretched. I highly recommend the Silversmiths. They are well made!
Three Year Review
I’ve owned these boots for three years now- They are comfortable and have lasted. I started wearing them daily as soon as I picked them up and didn’t stop until two years in when I moved to a more tropical climate. Now I wear them for work and dressy occasions matched with a copper Redwing belt. They’re ready for a heel replacement but for good reason- they’ve traveled the country. These boots are my babies- I own the black pair, a pair of Iron Rangers, and a pair of Pull-Ons in amber. I’ve noticed some cracking in my leather but that is my fault- my advice is to continue to condition and care for these babies, even if you’re on the road or live a busy lifestyle. Luckily it’s nothing I can’t blend with mink oil over time.

A great everyday boot
I thought long and hard before buying these boots because Red Wings are a significant investment for me. I wanted an everyday boot I can wear through various temperatures and kinds of weather, while looking somewhat stylish, and these fit the bill. They run true to size, though I am a lean person-- regular pull-on boots often look like buckets on my feet, and these look normal. I wear them with leggings and tunics, dresses and tights, pants-- they work with everything. They do take some breaking in (as a good boot should) but they felt more comfortable than I expected right out of the box.
Love them and they'll love you back
I've had my boots for about nine months now and they've suffered everything from Atlantic seawater to waterfalls in the high sierra without complaint. I love how the laces lock my heel into the heel cup; I don't think I've ever rolled an ankle while wearing them. The styling is also great - I use them for day hikes or a night out, and they look the part for both. They'll stay looking nice as long as you take care of them - I wipe mine down weekly with a damp towel and rub mink oil or waterproofing wax into the surface, paying extra attention to creases and cracks. The leather is well-tanned, and it drinks up oil to stay supple and strong. I would be buried in these boots. They're awesome.

My fiancé and I bought Red Wing boots for our wedding, (really just an excuse to spend so much on shoes). I’ve been wearing these boots for an hour and let me just say: these are an INVESTMENT. Just beautiful. Excellent quality. Immediately comfortable. I’m in love.
Color is deceiving in pictures
Many reviewers said the copper/red doesn’t come through in pictures. It is hard to tell, but out of the box these are a beautiful dark orange or even purple color. The copper started to change and streak as soon as I put my feet in them. I was on the fence about keeping these after I bought them because they were kind of an impulse buy, but now after seeing them I cannot send them back. It’s my second pair of Silversmiths so I already know they will fit beautifully once they’re broken in. Keep making gorgeous boots Red Wing!

These boots are made for walking!
I absolutely love these boots!!! I've searched high and low for a pair of high quality 100% leather boot. These are made of 100% leather with the best Vibram outsoles. It is so tough these days to find a full leather boot where the inside lining is also leather. I hope Red Wing NEVER changes their quality and materials on these boots. I did initially purchase the regular width a few years back because the wide width didn't exist and they were quite narrow to be honest, and I've waited years for Red Wing to finally come out with the wide ones, and they fit like an absolute glove! No break in period for the wide pair. I am excited to purchase more in other colors!

Great first boot from Red Wing
I've owned boots from other companies but these are far superior in quality and in condition. The break-in was a little rough but now that they've formed to my foot, I don't wear anything else. Perfect for everyday tasks, cold weather, and even a wedding! I get compliments on these boots everywhere I go. At first I was skeptical because of the price but the quality is so high that if you take care of these boots, they will last you twice as long as it will take for you to get your moneys worth. I'll be purchasing another pair in black very soon. Great purchase. I would suggest to anyone. ALSO, REDWING IS THE ONLY Company that makes a practical women's boot!!!!!!!
Fashionable Women's Boot
These boots are a staple in my everyday wardrobe. -I constantly receive compliments by men and women alike- the traditional lace-up style is very sought-after as far as boots go. I own not only the copper but the black pair as well. -The break-in period was particularly rough but if you stick it out this will be the most comfortable footwear in your collection. I guarantee it. -These have a more narrow toe, so if you have a particularly wide foot take heed. It's unfortunate that Red Wing doesn't have multiple options for shoe width in women's sizing.. WARNING: You CANNOT just wear this boot without cleaning, caring for, and conditioning the leather. I suggest you review Red Wing's website for care instructions. Chamberlain's Leather Milk has a really awesome how-to-care guide video for general care and conditioning practices as well. DO NOT make the mistake of letting this leather dry out. This leather is full grain: it has pores and fibers that MUST be hydrated, cleaned, fortified, and cared for. I was undereducated when it came to boot care and I have paid for it. This boot is too nice to not be treated regularly. -Brush after every use -clean when dirty, exposed to salt or sand, and don't forget to get a well brush -condition every 3-5 weeks or when leather is dry
Great Quality & Wardrobe Staple
1 year and counting! These are a wardrobe staple in winter for me. It took a while to break them in but now I wear them most days all day to work and on long walks with my GSD. I highly recommend trying on in the store for the experience because the clerks are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the brand and how their boots should fit. I chose to size-up because I have a wide foot and I typically do that for boots. 7 to an 8. There is no heel slippage even after break-in which I was originally nervous about with sizing up. Very good quality so I am glad I chose Red Wing for my everything boots! Also... with wide feet, I too, have felt my toes hang slightly over the edge of the inner sole.... but I know that the inner sole is made of cork and intended to change with wear... to mold to my foot. The initial gap I felt is filling out over time as the boot breaks in *everywhere* I don’t think that is a manufacturing issue like someone else had said.
