terrible quality

I gave this jacket to my son for Christmas. 3 days ago the zipper broke off when he was getting ready to go outside for recess and a seam ripped in the under arm area. Very disappointed in the terrible quality of this jacket. Plenty of spring snowboarding still left this season and now no jacket!

Lightweight and really warm

My AON loves the Omni heat tech helping keep the jacket lightweight. This jacket vs other Columbia’s with this tech that we’ve had previously does seem to be warmer… improved tech perhaps. The only downfall on this active winter jacket is there is no ring to attach lift tickets to. The pocket on the chest could’ve been an option but it’s a Velcro flap closure. No where around the bottom trim did they attach one so the zipper is the only place to attach which is less than ideal as it will flap in your face as your flying down the slopes. A miss but an easy improvement - we’re attaching our own to the bottom.

My twins love this coat

This coat is excellent for my growing boys. It arrived in a timely manner and my twins love them. The material seems like it will be long lasting and they haven't complained of being cold as of yet. I ordered size 10/12 which I would say runs closer to the 12 but that leaves even more room for them to grow. I would highly recommend buying this coat.

Excellent

I got this for my 5 year to ski in and its perfect. It keeps him warm all day and it dries quickly. He is a small 5 year old and i ordered an XS and it looks like he will be able to use it for 2 ski seasons. Love it.

Awesome Little Ripper Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Round 2 for this jacket for my son. His last one is in great shape after 2 solid ski seasons. The grow ability of the jacket let us jump sizes letting us keep one for 2 years. It's pretty much the same as the previous one. Fully featured and super warm. He uses it with just a Columbia base layer in a wide range of temps. Keeps him toasty and warm. The pocket on the chest doubles over keeping kid pass securely inside. I wouldn't mind a pass pocket on the arm though; when he was smaller sometimes I had to lift him up to the scanners.

Nice coat - but very ski focused

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son picked this one out from others at the store because he liked how lightweight it felt. He appreciates the nside mesh pocket to store his hat and gloves and pockets are generous enough. Hood is made to fit over a helmet which will be awesome when he skis but is a big pain for everyday - he can barely see out of it (and he has a big head!). Almost makes it non- functional for him. He’s tall and skinny so this coat is pretty wide on him but I don’t tend to see slims in coats so it will have to do.

exactly what we were looking for

This Jacket is exactly what I wanted. We ski and live in rural Pennsylvania. I wanted a jacket that could handle zero degrees and wind on the mountain while skiing and that my son could wear to school or to play in the snow when the temperature drops. the chest pocket means that he has a place to put his ski pass that is not at his chin or at his side, the inner mesh pocket gives him a place to put a small snack for on the slopes or his goggles if he wants to take them off. The heat technology this jacket has is very cozy. his body heat radiates back towards him to help him stay extra warm. The wrist cuffs have an inner base layer fabric with a thumb hole to help keep his sleeves in place and the snow off his wrists. he is 11 years old, 96 lbs and 5 feet tall. the 14/16 fits him perfectly.

Excellent jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a gift for a child who will use it as a ski jacket. His normal size in a jacket is normally an 8- he’s just 6.5 years old. The size 8 in this jacket was really very small so I had to buy the next size up- a 10/12 which fit him perfectly. It has the outgrow function which should get him 2 seasons of wearing it. Most of all, he was happy with the great color and that it was “warm and cozy” without being extra bulky. I just wish they had better accessories to match it!

Great jacket!

I purchased this for my 11 year old son to wear, sledding, and snowboarding. The first day he wore it in single digit weather with only a t-shirt under it and he stayed warm the entire 4 hours he was outside. The jacket has great pockets, he loves the netting pockets for quick storage like goggles. I was so happy to see that it has the “grow with you” stitching so we can hopefully get another 2 years out of it. I was very impressed to find a jacket of this quality for under $100.

Perfect for my 6 year old grandson

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We looked everywhere for a winter coat for my grandson. Maybe it's too early in the season, but its always best to let this finicky boy try it on. BUT his dad looked at your website and found this one. He measured his son and decided it would work. It was a perfect fit - some room to grow this winter. Initially, grandson rejected it when it wasn't another brand. But his mom pulled out her Columbia winter coat (that she had to buy after trying mine on!) and he said OK!
