Glad we had our kit handy

Recently my wife had a fall scrapping her face and knee. We had shown our new Weekend kit to our sons in our preparations for an upcoming trip just the night before. When they heard their mother cry out they knew just what to do. They grabbed the kit, cleaned and bandaged her wounds. The kit is so well organized they didn’t have any trouble finding the wound cleaning pads (which don’t sting - btw) and the large bandage they needed for her knee. I’m glad I bought this kit and proud of my boys.

thought it had tweezers but it didn't which was annoying when we had a splinter and needed to get it out. Thank goodness for AT thru hikers and their expansive medical kits!

The best first aid kit is the one that is on you

I have carried many kits, and for a very long time exclusively carried the AMK kits. The HART health kits are a fairly well thought out alternative, that opens up like a clamshell for easy access. A kit only works if you have it with you, and there is a tremendous amount of stuff packed into a very small package. Please know, this has an expiration date, and you do need to replace meds every 2-3 years, and keep an eye on gloves and adhesives. This is a great kit to have with the family, and with a set of fearless kids on bikes, we get a good amount of use out of it.

A small assortment...

...of ok medications, ointments and bandages, with an ok organizer bag. I doubled the number of bandages and meds and added a headlight and some safety pins from a previous kit, and then the bag was too small, so I'm using a larger bag. My use: motorcycle trips. I wish I'd bought a bigger kit with a bigger storage bag to start with. The included book is not bad, but is also small. The Adventure Medical Kits book: Wilderness Medicine by Eric Weiss, MD, that's included in the larger AMK kits, and which can be purchased separately, has about twice the information.

Covers all of your basic needs, and then some

This is a well packaged kit that covers all of the important basic first aid needs for a group weekend outing. Most people could easily get by with much less, but for larger groups or people with kids, having more than you think you'll need usually isn't a bad idea. I originally bought this for mostly solo backpacking trips, but I've since put together my own much more stripped down and much lighter weight custom kit, with just the things that I know I need. This kit was moved into the emergency kit in my truck, and it'll work very well for that application.

Nice Kit

Overall this is a nicely sized first aid kit for a weekend trip or to stash in the car. It is very portable, not very heavy and comes very well organized. Once inside the clear pockets are very easy to find what you need. The pre-printed inventory of the kit on the case is also very handy. A couple of things I would suggest to do is to add another sheet or two of moleskin. One sheet is not sufficient. Additionally, I would swap the forceps to a more precise pair. Notably lacking is a glucose packet, as well as an emergency blanket that could be easy additions to make this kit great.

Well organized but a bit bulky

If you're looking for a first aid kit that you don't have to think too much about, this is a great starting point. It contains enough supplies for most everyday medical scenarios, and they're well-organized in distinct compartments for easy access. I personally find it a bit large and bulky - I can pack the same items in a smaller, lighter format and do for backcountry trips. I think this is an excellent kit to keep in the car or at home due to the size.

Great Medical Kit!

I have used this kit for many years. It has been the only one I bought because I don't need any others. I have replaced some of the things that have been used. I did take out the first aid book, while useful I needed to make room for other things. The clamshell design is great and I really like the way it opens as well as the clear pockets. After using a good amount of the products it has pretty much become my own kit. I added water purification, a small lotion, chapstick, a pen, note cards, nail clippers, and personal meds. I hope to use it for many more years to come!

Excellent Kit

We had been comparison shopping for a kit for to pack on bike as well as motorcycle trips. This kit has all the bandages (including large wound pads), gauze and cleaning supplies you will want on hand for a serious mishap. The kit is well organized. I highly recommend it.

Displays nicely and is well equipped. As a RN, it has everything that I need to help myself or others. I just wish that the case was waterproof like one of their competitors!
