Solid lock
Solid lock that does the job. This is my first Abus, and on the whole, I’d say it’s slightly better than Kryptonite, by a hair. Like the competition, I sometimes have trouble making sure the two pieces are together just right before it will lock.

Another U-lock with poor mounting bracket
The lock itself seems reliable and sturdy. Key inserts and locks/unlock easily. But, the mounting bracket and mating shackle clamp is plastic and failed within a month of riding around town. The shackle clamp has thin rails that mate with the mount and broke apart while riding. If you intend to carry the lock in your backpack or stow it other than with the mount, it could be for you. If you intend to mount it to your bike while riding, I suggest one of the Kryptonite u-locks, all of which have a reliable and robust metal mounting system.

cannot remove the key from the lock
This is the second type of an Abus bike lock that I bought and both had problems with a locking system. This one does not allow me to lock completely and remove the key. I think my third bike lock will be from another company as I do not want to get stuck again, far from home, with a lock either stuck on my bike or being unable to lock my bike.

Thieves cut right through it

Purchased it at my local rei not even a month ago, woke up to find my bike gone and the lock snapped in half. This product is a fat joke. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this product

I was very happy with this lock at first — size, weight, security level — but after a year of being stored outside it became very hard to unlock. And this is in California so the weather is not overly harsh.

Big lock
Yes , I recommend this product
Replacement for a previous U lock that was becoming untrustworthy. This thing is big, but not as heavy as it looks. Extra width makes it easier to use. Using it on my shopping bike, so don't care about weight and bulk so much. Cable is of course good. Hoping it will work out.
