The S Biner Dual Carabiner clips from Nite Ize are perfect for this purpose. Made of brightly colored aluminum, they feel quite strong. The clips are easy to open and have a notch to lock into, preventing accidental reopening. The dual sides make them highly customizable for your intended purpose. The #2 is best for the minimalist - car fob and house key. The #3 is ideal for every day - evenly distribute fobs and keys amongst the two sides without creating too bulky of a grouping. The #4 is best for when you want to load all keys and fobs on one side together and attach the other to a belt loop or a lanyard. This will be his new clip for his keys and fobs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live Nite Ize carabiners. Being able to open both sides makes it so easy to click items on and off. The three pack is really handy since you get a different sizes. The small clip is perfect to connect my keychain pen to my satchel. The bigger sizes are good for clipping water bottles to my belts. Since the clips are made of aluminum, I don’t have to worry about them breaking like I do with cheaper clips. You really can’t go wrong with these!
Sturdy & smooth open/shut!

Dual openings makes for fast and easy attachment to another item without losing original connection. I rely on these to help prevent loss of items like keys. Definitely recommend!

Versatile carabiners for attaching accessories.
Great little pack of carabiners. Nice for attaching misc. accessories. I use the larger one to attach gloves to the outside of my hiking pack, I use the mid size for putting my baseball cap somewhere when I need to take it off, and I use the small on on my key chain to quickly attach/detach my house keys. This slim profile helps reduce bulk and lay flat. I've been using mine for nearly 6 years now and they all work great still!

Does the job until it breaks
I keep buying these because I like them better than the bulky biners, but I find that after 1-3mo at least 2 out of the 3 of them breaks at the moving-gate mechanism and comes completely off. So you’re left with one half s-biner with the other half open

I've used this pack of carabiners for a year now and they're still going strong. I've also given this set to friends for bday presents and they still use them as well. I recommend!
Consistently drops keys
The design where each clip overlap makes it so when you open one side to take a key off, the otehr side is against your palm and opens as well. I have dropped keys multiple times and finally lost one for a trailer lock on a borrow trailer this weekend. This should not be advertised as a key holder, as all the photos show, Niteize has a locking version of this and the ahh bottle opener one I had for several years before one of the springs broke. I will buy one of those instead.
