multipurpose gear item

I love it. I have used this as a float bag in the back of my creekboat on harder whitewater in case of a swim, and I have also used it as a drybag in the back of my boat on multidays. It works for both! I am a bit worried about how lightweight the material is. I am scared it might rip someday, but so far it has held up very well through 2 seasons of multidays and river trips. Happy with it!

Mixed opinions

I'm just getting started doing multi-day self support whitewater kayak trips and needed a pair of stow floats for my creek boat. I got one NRS, and one Watershed stow float (the only options I could find on the market). Looking online it's clear that Watershed is beefier (and more expensive) which is indeed the case in person, this is true of both the material, and the waterproof zipper. With this in mind I planned to use watershed for stuff that *must* stay dry, like my sleeping bag, and use NRS for nice to have dry, like my tent. Before getting them I assumed that the NRS waterproof seal was just the result of multiple folds like a typical dry bag, but it does have a ziplock style zipper, which gave me added confidence my gear would stay dry. Getting this ziplock zipper to seal was a bit difficult, and took more time than the one on the watershed bag. It was a minor annoyance, but not a deal breaker. If you were careful to double check that it was sealed this wouldn't cause issues on a trip. The thin material of the NRS bag made loading it in the back of my kayak a little easier... I felt like it went deeper in the stern than my watershed, which seemed a bit more rigid with the thicker material. It also had one less buckle to snag compared to the watershed bag. Overall, I'm happy with my choice to own one of each. The NRS stow float is good for the price point, but not overall best in class in my opinion.

Very Vague Product Instructions Provided -

I am new to kayaking and have no experience with use of dry bag systems. It seems that this bag includes compression straps to help protect seal which I have no idea how to properly seal or set at proper tension because there was no instruction sheet included. Only vague instruction on packaging card for inflation. I was also surprised that the quality of the material does not seem as durable as the NRS buoyancy bag that I recently purchased. I was able to obtain this item based on a promotion - if I would have paid full price I am fairly certain that I would have returned based on quality for the price. Also - I have watched the youtube video - and it does not show how to fold down seal or actually attach the straps. Looks like it is shoved behind the kayak seat. I guess I'll hope for the best that I use correctly.
