Thumb loop sleeve will break

The thumb loop sleeve broke the first time I used the extended sling. Now the wire is exposed which will wear through the sling, so the cam is unusable. This was the result of a very minor catch on a cam that had been only used a few dozen times over a couple years. Every cam from another company I've owned lasted 10+ years, my Friend lasted less than 3.

Take care of your friends and they'll take care of you

What can I say, WC makes some top tier equipment. I've had these cams for 5 years, and loved them so much I bought another double rack. Here's a photo of five years of frequent use. BD has started making their cams with extendable slings just like WC, and charge almost double. The WC sizes are slightly larger and heavier than BD camalots. Great product for getting out into the alpine or even taking on a big wall. Tell your friends, WC friends are your best friends on any traditional climbing routes!

Stiff/rough spring mechanism. It does not affect the overall performance of the cam, but other brands are overall smoother. 2 of the three cams exhibit some roughness in the mechanism. Otherwise good for the price when on sale.
