Great Lightweight Whistle
This whistle helped scare away something stalking my group on an AT trip this year. It was VERY loud.

Includes glued plastic part
This whistle is not 100% titanium. Inside the end is a poorly aligned plastic part messily glued in. I therefore won't trust this as an emergency whistle. There are similar whistles out there that don't rely on glued in parts. I will be returning this.

Great whistle

Great whistle. Our dogs seem to come really well to the sound of the emergency whistle on the chest strap of some backpacks so I bought this so I could always have one with us. The dogs come quick and it is loud enough that I am sure it would work well to signal in an emergency too.

NOT 100% metal - key component is plastic & glue

This seems solid construction, which I appreciate, but one of the key components is a piece of plastic glued on. I bought this exclusively to avoid plastic and buy a solid item for life. Very disappointed that this "titanium whistle" is part plastic.

Kind of a Letdown

Bought this whistle for emergencies while backpacking. But it probably wouldn’t help if I was in an emergency. When blown, the whistle barely has much sound to it. You have to blow at a certain rate and pressure to get a decent sound out of it. In an emergency situation, I would feel gutted to rely on this whistle. Next time, I will be more careful with my choice.

Main parts misaligned, maybe quality control issue

The first one I received had a pointy piece of metal sticking upright where your lips go. Returned that one, received a second one and this time the interior block that is supposed to line up with the exterior hole (where the air comes out to make the whistle sound) is misaligned. It works kind of, but it's not really loud because of this. I wouldn't rely on it as a safety whistle.

Super light and loud

Hopefully I’ll never need it, but I have no doubt if I do, it’s loud enough to attract the attention you’d need in that situation. So light you’d forget it’s there.

A very effective whistlle

It really works. It whistles and it's loud. I hope that I don't ever need to use it though.

it does the job

This whistle is no doubt good looking and super light I forget it’s around my neck all the time. It is loud but has a filet pitch compared to a heavier but thin UST whistle I bought for 3 dollars. The point is it still hurts to blow really hard... and gets the message out. Hopefully you practice SOS ••• - - - •••. Anyways it’s worth it because I wear it everyday. Living in the city and all

Compact and REALLY FREAKING LOUD

This is a great addition to my emergency kit. It's loud and small, easy to carry and otherwise a great tool to have. Everyone should have at least one--I'll pick up a few more soon.
