Best camp chair but a little expensive

Most comfortable camp chair I've ever sat in. Can sit up or recline almost like a hammock. Very innovative design for a common product no one else is making real effort to improve. I have already seen complaints about the poles for the head support, and I will admit I also had trouble with this at first. I had to exert far more force than I felt comfortable with to get them in place and do worry that it might reduce the longevity of the fabric that holds them. It would also be nice to see some price reduction as sales volume increases--materials of construction don't seem much different from a standard chair.

Nice Chair But Too Small
Blake
Chair is nice to look at and reclines easily but is too narrow at the top for the average sized man. The seat itself is comfortable, but the vertical bars from which the seat suspends are so narrow that my shoulders are "scrunched" together when I lean back. Also the vertical bars which hold the suspended seat interfere with the arm rests making them unusable. This would be a great chair if the frame was wider at the top so your shoulders could lay back comfortably and if the frame did not interfere with the arm rests. I am five feet eleven inches and weigh 190. If Nemo widens the frame, this would be a great chair. B

Fantastic Camping Chair With A Quirk

This chair is fantastic. Highly recommend this product to all campers except backpackers as it is a bit too much for hiking I feel. Overall, this chair is tough with pockets for drink and phone. Reclines easily and can also sit upright with as much ease. The only thing I didn’t like but got used to is the head rest part of chair. If you sit down quick it will flip up and hit your head. Annoying to say the least but once you get used to it it’s fine.

Falling apart after ~10 uses.

We purchased this chair in late 2020 and have used it total of ~10 times. It is quite difficult to assemble and get the polls in place. The stitching in the area where you place the poles is completely unraveling and now there is a hole where the pole is supposed to sit, rending the chair unusable. This happened on both sides. Given the cost of this chair, we're very dissatisfied it both the useability and the durability. Do not recommend.

With mods, this chair is great!

I love this chair and was worried about all the reviews of assembling the head rest. They are all right: it’s nearly impossible. It was so difficult that I was just going to return it. But luckily, I’m married to Macgyver and he was able to fix it so that it’s easy to assemble. Instead of the aluminum poles, I now have fiberglass ones (with heat shrink tips). The fiberglass is much more flexible and bends into place, yet it is sturdy enough to be functional. Plus... they glow in the dark as a fun bonus. Now that I can assemble it easily, I LOVE rocking in it, reclining, and how small it folds down to! It’s so comfortable and an ingenious design (except the metal pole idea).

Comfortable but needs a little modification.

I like my chair. The only time it isn't comfortable is if I am in slippery pants, as I can start to migrate out of it, otherwise it is wonderful to relax in. It is tough to pack back in its bag, but doable. I am pretty heavy and it supports me, which is impressive. The only thing that really bothers me is this one bracket keeps turning sideways. I have to straighten it out and hold it while sitting. Which is incredibly akward, to keep it from turning sideways. Being sideways doesn't hurt the chair now. But I worry it will wear out the webbing faster when it does that. I mostly wrote this review in hopes that Nemo will see this and fix the issue.

very comfortable, back poles are a nightmare

Used this chair last summer for car camping, and will again this summer. A lot. I really wanted to love this chair because it is COMFORTABLE, but there are significant issues. 1) the back poles are TOO LONG (photo 2) and require a wrestling match to insert. Frustrating. 2) Extreme amount of pressure needed to insert the poles caused the bottom pocket to wear out on one of my chairs rendering it nearly unusable -- again, poles are TOO LONG. I can still use the chair by being careful to not poke the pole through the worn area (photo 1). I will be repairing/reinforcing this area on all four bottom pockets. 3) Wrestling match round two: packing up the chair in the TOO SMALL storage sack. I got better at packing the thing with lots of trail and error, but c'mon, make the container a tad larger, eh? (photo 3) Surprised by these obvious design flaws for a pricey chair. I don't mind paying for quality, and the materials are quality -- can't say the same for the design. Five star comfort and materials, minus three stars for design flaws = two stars overall.

Poorly Designed and Constructed

I want to love this chair, but I don't. Great concept, poorly executed. I've had the chair since November of 20'. On it's maiden voyage, the strap that travels through the top buckle binds up because it is sideways. Therefore, when you fully recline, it gets stuck and won't let you lean forward - I encourage anyone to try getting out of this chair when its not working properly. Also, the mesh like material underneath the seat has ripped and is fraying into hundreds of strands. The base is sturdy and built well; though difficult to stow away in the bag. I know Nemo makes great products, or at least that what my friend's camping gear suggests. Unfortunately, this is the only item I've purchased from them Nemo. At this price point, the chair should have made it more than 6 months without defect.

Worst purchase I ever made

I bought this chair two summers ago and have used it 15 times. The back 2 Pc support rods have weakened the bartacked nylon pockets. The rods were extremely difficult to insert and also to remove. I took the chair to my local seamstress to see if she could fix the shredded nylon and was not able to do so. For an expensive chair, this is shoddy quality and poor design.

Great for the first year

Nice features and comfortable for the first year. After the first year, the stitching started to give out on one of the back support pole tubes. Only one of them has problems, maybe I bought that one poorly made…

Busted In Five Days

After reading all of the poor reviews regarding the back support poles being too long, I contacted NEMO directly and requested confirmation that this problem had been remedied. They wrote saying they would fix any problems - that said I went ahead with my purchase. The chair arrived and I set it up in the living room and immediately the upper stitched pockets where the back support poles go in tore just enough for the poles to seat. Thinking I could live with that issue I decided to continue on. Well I just got back from a week long trip with the chair and can report that on day 5 one of the back support poles broke through the bottom stitched pocket of the chair. Simply amazing that with virtually no weight baring in this pocket it failed. Thankfully the one remaining pole provided just enough back support to keep the chair in a "usable" state for the final 2 days of the trip. Other than the rather catastrophic failure of the one lower back pole support pocket, I did find the chair remarkably comfortable and really liked the ability to rest my head on the included headrest. The mechanism that allows the chair to transition from upright to reclining is ingenious and worked very well. The included case allows barely enough room to repack the chair and I ended up just leaving the case unzipped with parts of the chair sticking up when moving between campsites as shoving everything in was just annoying and frustrating. As soon as I got back from my trip I contacted NEMO support through their online contact form and despite their pledge to respond within 24 hours, I have yet to hear anything from them.
