I bought this to replace my Petzl Corax harness. I chose this one because its gear loops are slightly larger, and it has an extra one in the back. It certainly holds a ton more gear than the corax, which is frustrating since it doesn't have as much support. It's more flexible and lighter, meaning that it sags and digs into your hips with heavy loads. Though I can fit more gear onto the spacious gear loops, it digs into my hips and causes chafing. Additionally, it doesn't provide as much back support, which is extremely annoying on multipitch routes. Pros: * Larger gear loops * More gear loops Cons: * Not constructed to support all the extra weight on the larger gear loops.
I have only used this harness for indoor climbing so far but it is extremely comfortable when spending a few hours in the gym. My only issue is the fit. I purchased the size large so it would fit my legs but I have to have the waist as tight as absolutely possible and even then I could probably do with slightly tighter. Probably going to give this to a friend and pick up the womens version of it instead since they are sized with smaller waists compared to legs. If you have an athletic build you may need to consider doing the same. For reference I wear a 32” waist but have 24-25” legs. 6’3 at 200lbs
I bought this as a jack-of-all-trades harness and couldn't be happier. It's light (back when I bought it, it was one of the lightest of its kind. It seems to have more competition today). It's so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. It's highly adjustable, so you can wear in all seasons, under or over jackets. It has enough gear attachment points, but not too many. I've used it at the gym, at the crags, in the mountains, and on technical ice. I haven't done any big wall climbing; if that's your thing, you may need something more burly and heavily padded. I haven't used it on sport climbs; for this you may wish for lighter weight and more ample gear racking. If you're a hardcore alpine climber, you may want something more minimalist. But for all-around climbing, with an emphasis on trad and moderate alpine routes, I love it. I'd love it more if I'd bought the right size. I went for large, thinking I'd need it to fit over winter pants, but should have gotten a medium. luckily, the adjustment range is huge, and I've been able to make it fit.
Bought this to wear while belaying at a ROPE course where I volunteer. Although I have backpacked for decades, I am fairly new to belayed sports. This is the first harness I have purchased & I am very happy. Just got back from my first week on the ROPE course. The harness was super comfortable even when wearing nearly all day long. Can't wait to take it canyoneering next Sept.
Ive used this harness for over a year now and have really enjoyed it. It's very comfortable and light weight yet durable. Some of the gear loops are rigid and hold your gear very well while other lops towards the back of the harness are looser and allow to hold gear out of the way. I would highly recommend this harness.
Aesthetically, this harness has been my favorite. It's very neutral, yet has a nice look to it. Ladies, be warned that this harness is absolutely not comfortable. Scared to know what it feels like for men, honestly. Adjustable straps could also be a lot easier to loosen and tighten, like the Black Diamond harnesses (which I've owned before). For the same price point, I'd probably recommend Black Diamond instead. Gear loops are awesome and spacious however. Harness feels very sturdy as well. I'm a 5'4" 145 lb lady climber with an XS, and I could use a size up.
I bought this harness for climbing and highlining, and it's comfortable, roomy for gear, and quite lightweight. It held up very well for 3 years, taking chimney squeezes on sharp granite like a champ. Unfortunately, the stretchy strap on the back of the left leg loop recently tore off, so I'll be picking up another. That being said, I'm satisfied with the use I've squeezed out of this bad boy.
Went out on my first climb today, and my new harness was still comfortable at the end of the day! The last decent was just as great as the first. The hip belt is deceptively comfy. No sag, even with all the gear.
I've had this harness for a year now and it works great. I climb 4-5 times a week and its held up really well and its still very comfortable.
I’m a new climber and have only had the chance to use it a few times, but I’ve so far felt like the price to quality ratio was superb.
