Hot Yeti Loving
My first Yeti product, largely because I have balked at the price of their offerings. Based on this mug, I’m sure they are worth it if you fit the use case. Anyway, this mug is awesome. I work for a coffee company so I own a plethora of mugs in many forms, but this one is my new fave. I have longed for a double wall stainless steel mug that has a large flat bottom that won’t tip over: winner winner chicken dinner!!! Yet nailed it. Keeps liquid Hot for hours and is easy to drink from. I also love the handle; it’s simple and just works. I may get another one for home and camping. Too heavy for backpacking, but I don’t think that’s the intended use case. But I would be tempted to take it on a short winter overnight trip when weight isn’t as concerning. Bravo Yeti!

Not so hot..
I used a laser thermometer on my new mug (which I am returning), tested the heat loss every hour, and was in disbelief of the very poor heat retention. Coffee will stay hot for about an hour. In an hour, the coffee is just warm. It tells me that the insulation is poor and the mass of the fluid when the cup is full, is keeping the fluid warm - not insulation . When fluid levels get low in the cup, there just isn't anything keeping the fluid hot. Having a hole in the lid for heat to escape is poor engineering. Yeti products I HAVE PURCHASED work far better at keeping fluids cold rather than hot. The half gallon jug is AWESOME at keeping fluids cold!!!!!!

Disappointing quality

I got 2 of these in Navy and Peak Purple. Even though they are dishwasher safe, they both came out with discolored spots. After contacting Yeti, I was told to run them under very hot water to remove the spots which did help, but did not get rid of them completely. A little disappointed in the quality; not what I expected from YETI. Also these don’t have the weighted feel that I am use to with the other products I own and do not keep the coffee as hot.

Good except for the duracoat

Love the mug, good size and it keeps things hot. The mag slider is easy to use and clean and pretty functional, but not 100% leakproof. My biggest problem is every version of this mug that I've purchased with the Duracoat color has developed bubbling/peeling/chipping on the handle. I have many ramblers and none of the others have developed this issue, but all of my mugs have. Wish Yeti addressed what seems to be a systemic problem.

Keeps hot coffee truly hot and ice coffee ice cold

I found the seafoam colored mug at an authorized retailer while Christmas shopping with my mother in law and fell in love! I own the regular 20oz Rambler in seafoam and just had to have this to match, so she bought it for me as my Christmas gift. I like both hot and iced black coffee, and the mug keeps them both at their respective temperatures for HOURS. The times when I drink my coffee hot I have to leave the lid off for a while to try to get it to cool enough fast enough to drink and not burn my mouth. However, pay attention to where you buy from. I made the mistake of trying to purchase two more Yeti mugs from online and didn't realize it wasn't from an authorized retailer. The two I received were very similar looking with minor differences. I put my true Rambler mug beside them and realized they were counterfeit Yeti mugs (explaining why they don't keep beverages hot or cold for long). I'm guessing that's what's happened to some of the other people reviewing the bug who have had problems, bc the real Yeti mug is amazing! I just wish Tahoe blue was still a color choice! :(

I love this cup for my house & office

I bought this cup a few days ago and I love it. I have the 36 oz rambler bottle with the straw lid that I use for water and love it. I have a 20 oz tumbler with the mud slide that I use for coffee (traveling, going out and about and use it every morning to go to work with my coffee). However, this one is as amazing but just to sit at a desk with you or hold as you are watching TV, reading a book this is the best. People if you are looking for a spill proof obviously this isn't it or if you are looking for one that keeps drinks as hot as a tumbler it wont do it as well as the lid has an opening the tumbler keeps my drink hot for over a day.

Picked Up Three! Well Made!

Overall build is stout. Heavy and I love the handle. It only comes with the standard lid but I have several Mag Slider lids around.
