Pretty awesome, variations to make it harder
If you're concerned that 13 lbs isn't enough, since you're a rock climber, then you may find yourself initially disappointed. For me it's not to hard to crush this gripper repeatedly, though I have relatively strong forearms, I'm ~215 lbs and my highest climbing grade in the gym was a 5.11b. However, then I realized there are a lot of grip variations that make it quite difficult, and so probably helpful for gaining strength: * You can squeeze and hold it as long as you can, like when hangboarding. * You can place your fingers between the pads, such that your finger is squishing two springs at once, effectively doubling the force. Using just one or two fingers at a time is also interesting.
Improves Climbing Grip
This product is great for improving climbing grip/finger strength. The single spring design allows me to figure out which fingers I need to train and which are already at the maximum limit. Overall the strengthener is fairly comfortable: the rubber grip helps your fingers stay where they need to and the groove for the palm stabilizes the device in your hand. The product is relatively quiet and will stay so as long as you use some WD-40 on it every so often.
Does it’s job
Happy that I bought this. Noticeable finger strength going up after a month or so of use. Didn’t bother to buy all the other ones with different weights I just went and got the highest.
grip harder
This product will warm up your fingers no doubt, but because of it being free floating and having individual springs, it can feel precarious when your hands become tired. I still prefer the rubber "donut" which has a fairly static feel to it.
