Quality, as expected, at the right price

Yeti is well known for making a quality product at a steep price. However, if you already have a Rambler bottle this is a no brainer upgrade. I use ice molds to make large cubes to keep my water cold, but as you get to the last drop there is always a concern of the ice moving and sloshing the water. This eliminates that issue. Also, the quality of this item is high and immediately noticeable. The clear plastic on the bottom piece is thicker and stronger than you would expect. The opening at the top that you grab is slightly wider than the OEM cap and makes it just that much easier to carry. Do not hesitate to buy, you will not regret the purchase!

Easier to drink from, doesn't keep it as cold

I've had this for about 3 weeks and I am happy that I got this Chug Cap. I haven't found it to be insanely difficult to twist the inner cap on and off- it doesn't need to be twisted on with all of your strength. My only complaint is that the Rambler does not keep my drinks as cold as it did with the original top, and it's noticeable. I used to be able to fill it with ice and water, bring it to the beach for the day and still have massive ice chunks after several hours in the sun. I find that the ice melts quite quickly with the Chug Cap, about 2 hours. I still enjoy being able to drink out of it but it definitely compromises the integrity of the original Rambler.

Great Accessory For My Go-To Travel Bottle.

I've been very happy with this accessory. My wife suggested I pick one up because the noise of the original lid was too loud. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the base of the cap stays put when the lid is removed. I've also noticed the inside of the bottle stays cleaner longer, maybe due to the smaller opening? I definitely appreciate not getting smacked in the face with ice, but on occasion the ice chunks can reduce the fluid flow - remedied by a quick shake of the bottle. The price for this accessory was certainly worth the convenience. Pros: The Chug cap is only half a rotation to remove from bottle (vs 1.5 rotations for original cap) Can refill from water cooler without removing the full cap Quieter to open than original cap Less chance of backwash / icebergs Much easier to drink from in vehicle without spillage Easy to clean Same three-finger loop Cons: Adds minimal additional height to original rambler cap (+0.75in for Chug Cap) Additional weight (3.1 oz for original lid vs 6.5 oz for Chug Cap) Took a few tries to get used to new drinking location in the middle not the edge

Great for cooks in a kitchen

I bought my chug cap to use on my 36oz water bottle. It worked fine for about a year. I could fill it to the top with ice and water and it stayed icy cold for hours while I worked in a commercial kitchen. I guess I've twisted the cap on and off too many time. Now I have to buy a new one because the threads are completely stripped inside the cap. I don't know if it's normal wear and tear, but I don't know of any other alternative caps like this. The drink spout is just fine. I wish I could just purchase the cap. That's the only thing that needs replacing.

Chug Cap Threading is Horribly Made.

As with most people I see in the reviews, the threads of the chug cap become loose/cross threaded over time and will render the entire bottle as useless. I've had this for a year and this is the second chug cap I have bought. Yet claiming we are "tightening too tight" is a bogus excuse for a poorly made product. Yet if you read this, please make a metal cap. It is entirely possible and will fix this horrific issue with your product.

Lid threads strip.

I love the chug lid, but unfortunately the threads eventually go bad on the top part of the lid with the handle. I've had several chug lids and the same thing has happened to each one. The threading on this product definitely needs improvement and/or needs to be sold separately. If the top part is sold separately (until the product is improved) it would create much less waste which I do believe is important to your company.

Defective and Terrible

So I have to preface this review by saying that I love Yeti products. I have probably 5 Yeti products and have bought Yeti products for my family and business multiple times. However this recent experience with the Yeti chug cap is terrible. I was out on a fishing/climbing trip with some friends. I had my bottle attached to my pack via a carabiner. We were just hiking through the woods doing nothing crazy or adventurous, a pretty easy trail to our bouldering spot. Well we get to the spot and I take my backpack off and there’s no bottle. Just the cap attached to the carabiner. I’ll post pictures of the cap but I assume the bottle fell off because the cap failed. It was not an abnormally hot day and we were just hiking so it’s not like I broke the cap. I will be calling customer service but now I’m down a chug cap and bottle. Save your money and buy the original cap. These new ones leak, sweat, and generally are built terribly. Product development guy must be someone’s cousin.

Must have!

Calling this item the "chug" cap sold it for me. I loved my Yeti Rambler bottle but was missing the ability to quench my thirst in the car without giving my face a splash of cold water. The fit is perfect. No leaks, easy to clean and the quality can't be beat.

Threads stripped

I loved this lid until it broke. One day I was putting the cap on but it would not secure. It kept coming off. I looked inside and realized that the plastic threads were broken and stripped. Now I can’t use the lid because it leaks and won’t stay on.

What you are experiencing isn’t something that happens often but can be caused by cross-threading and/or over-tightening your Chug Cap. Over time this will strip the threads. We would love to get that Chug Cap replaced for you. Please send our Outfitter team an email at customerservice@yeti.com.

Chug cap for the Yeti rambler

This is a must have for the yeti rambler, it’s so easy to drink from and it has an awesome seal on it for no leaks. Definitely still keep the regular screw in one as a great option when it comes to using it for soup or something.
