Keeps my head warm!
I love this cap and wish I had had it much sooner. I swim but dislike cold water. This cap is like having a wet suit on my head--keeps my head dry and warm. It is a little tight to put on but needs to be to keep the water out.
Leaked on First Use
When I read the reviews about the cap being warm, I assumed it was, for the most part, water-tight. Wore it earlier today for a moderate 20-minute work out and realized my hair was completely soaked. Took off the cap, dunked it in the water and held it up. Water leaked from the lowest point in a steady stream. I'm not sure how others were able to keep warm if the water seeps into the cap. Perhaps it's intended for warmth in open water swimming? Or did I just get a dud? I didn't mind the band on the cap, it was a non-issue once I had it fully covering my head. I'm a woman, so there is a chance that my head size is smaller than the intended user. If the cap hadn't allowed water in, I could have loved this.
Old lap swimmer
Keeps me warm on cold mornings when swimming laps. Warmer and easier to put on than a single ply latex cap.
COMFORT Cap!
Exactly like it says on the tin! This cap is comfortable. If you want a comfortable cap above all else, this cap would be a very good choice. Most other swim caps give me headaches, and this has made a world of difference. It's also fairly easy to put on, even with a ponytail. The cap is made of a stretchy fabric with a silicone exterior and seams down the middle. I could wear it all day with no problems. If you want a cap with features other than comfort, this is not the cap for you. This cap is NOT waterproof AT ALL, so don't expect it to be. I suspect other reviewers who say it is waterproof must be using a different cap altogether! The insulating properties are minimal. I use it on 110 degree days and on 60 degree days and honestly I didn't know warmth was in the description until I came back to review. Finally, the fabric is kinda fragile. I could see it getting damaged or pierced if you aren't careful with it. Sizing: I have a fairly small head, and a reasonable amount of shoulder length hair. It comes down to the lower third of my ears.
Does not keep hair dry. Uncomfortable.
I have purple tips on my hair right now and I wanted to protect my hair from the chlorine in the pool so I bought this swim cap. The other reviews lead me to believe it would keep my hair mostly dry. WRONG! I actually put my hair in a ponytail, put the ponytail inside a plastic bag, wrapped an extra rubber band around the mouth of the plastic bag, and then put on the swim cap. It was pretty difficult to get on, it pulled at the hair on my temple, quite a bit, ripped out several hairs. I swim for about a half an hour, and when I took it off afterwards, it was even harder to take off, and it was to put on, and my hair was absolutely soaking underneath. Maybe if you want to keep your head warmer you would buy this swimming cap? I live in California and I swim in a heated pool so that’s not a concern of mine. Anyway, I’m just going to be throwing this in the trash.
Uncomfortably tight!
The cap was uncomfortably tight, and I could feel it pressing firmly against my head. I am not a big person at all.
Painful to put on, hair, completely wet after
I wanted a swim cap because I wanted to take advantage of the pool at my gym and didn’t want chlorine to bleach the ends of my hair, which are currently purple. So I put my hair in a ponytail and put the ponytail in a little plastic bag and then wrapped rubber bands around a little plastic bag and then put the swim cap on. Tucking in my bangs was excruciatingly painful, and then, after I got out of the pool, and took off my swim cap, my hair was completely soaking wet. It was like I hadn’t even tried to keep it dry. I will be returning this swim cap. It’s easier to just put my hair in a ponytail if it’s going to get wet anyway. Maybe someone whose hair is long enough to get into their eyes or mouth but not long enough to put in a ponytail would benefit from the swim cap, but you’d probably get the same benefit from a headband.
too tight
This cap is warmer than your usual swim cap but was so tight on my head it hurt my ears. I tried it three times but after 15 minutes it hurt to wear it. I am 5'4" and 120 lbs, so normal size. I had to return it.
