Great Cap
I really like this cap. It's easy to put on and off, doesn't pull hair and stays in place while swimming. Mine ripped within a month though - the longer piece that covers my ears just ripped off into my hand. Not sure why - I always rinsed and dried it as instructed. I do have long, curly, thick hair so I may have too "much" hair for this size but it's the only size REI offered. In any case, I will buy another one since it was so comfortable and hope that the easy ripping was a fluke.
As my first cap it works wonders
I have started training for next years triathlon season and this was the first cap I have ever worn. It seems to work great and is comfortable. Keeps my head warmer during swims and hair less wet.
best cap I've ever owned
This is a fantastic cap. It is very comfortable and easy to put on/take off (doesn't catch and pull hair like latex caps can). I used mine 2-3 times a week for five years before it finally ripped! I'll be replacing it with another ASAP.
TYR wrinkle-free seems to never break down
a year and a half ago i bought this cap and it tore on my 3rd wear. i brought it back to the REI and exchanged for same cap. my average use for the cap is at least 3xs a week and the cap is still like new! after about 6mo i picked up another and keep them both in a plastic bag with powder (cornstarch not talc) which keeps them from sticking together.
Not so wrinkle free on me.
I needed a cap to reduce my hair exposure to pool chemicals and to retain some of the heat lost from my head. ..I put it on after showering, and during the swim, it slowly slipped up to form large wrinkles (no, folds) on the top and the back of my head, and I felt the resistance of the folds when I pushed off from the pool wall. After a readjustment, it held for awhile before gradually slipping again. I've put it on my dry head at home and it seems to stay in place. I haven't gone swimming after applying it dry because all swimming pools require swimmers to shower completely before jumping in. I'm a guy with short hair. I wanted to know if someone with a good sized shock of hair would have been able to fill out the folds. Next swimming cap, please. RE: complaints about water getting in, sure it does, but water won't continually wash through and damage your pretty locks. No swim cap will prevent your hair from getting wet--only keeping your head above water will do that.
Swim cap
I’ve had many of these caps that have fit well. This one is uncomfortably tight.
Swim cap
Too tight, wouldn’t go over my head, had to retired it
Too tight
Too tight. I wear a 7-7/8 hat. They should offer an xl option.
Swim cap
I purchased this hoping it would keep my hair dry, but it doesn't But not as tight as the Speedo silicone swim cap which gave me a headache
TYR Wrinkle Free Silicone Cap
This is an excellent cap. I swim 5,000 meters a week and never had a problem with it. It did finally wear out after about a year or more.
