Better than instant!
I've had a lot of backcountry coffee over the years. Cowboy coffee, percolators, both cheap and expensive instant brands. I will wholeheartedly say that Alpine Start has found a permanent place in my outdoor inventory. It's super easy to pack, ultra convenient, dead-simple to make, and ultimately makes a really tasty cup of coffee. The culmination of all this makes it a no-brainer choice for your next outdoor adventure. Whether a bivouac on the side of a remote mountain, or waking up in your tent bleary-eyed from a night of one-too-many drinks, you'll be stoked to find a packet of this stuff in your pack.
Makes early mornings outdoors [more!] enjoyable
Figuring out how to get good coffee - that is coffee that tastes good AND has a proper caffeine level - into the backcountry is always a trick. Especially on multi-sport trips, you don't have ability to bring all kinds of devices for coffee prep. Alpine Start is the solution to your needs - tastes good and easily packable. Living in the PNW I have taken this on many wet adventures and the packaging didn't disintegrate. This is now an essential for any and all trips into the backcountry [or the frontcountry for that matter].
This coffee is amazing
I love this coffee and tried it after watching Darwin’s review. It is so much better than the cheaper packets of crystals and is a wonderful morning pick me up on the trail. It’s smooth and only needs one packet vs 2 of the cheaper brands.
Quick and Deliscious!
I bought this instant coffee based on some online reviews done by various hikers. It is replacing my normal french-press set up for long excursions. I can now enjoy a good cup of joe without the clean up and I also save quite a bit of volume and weight in my pack!
ACTUALLY SO GOOD
You never know with instant coffee if it will be legit. You guys - I am very picky with my coffee and Alpine Start is LEGIT! Take it from a Barista's opinion :) Had it for the first time this morning looking out at the sun rising on Mount Baker and it was the best thing I have tasted in a long time. You won't regret buying this.
TASTY + So easy
When I first saw this on the shelf I was excited to try it. FINALLY an alternative to the other instant options out there. Once I got it home, I opened up the box, and was excited to see how light and small the individual packets were - great when counting ounces in a full pack!. Then I made a cup. HOLY MOLY! This was a rich, full-flavored cup of coffee. I like my coffee black and strong, this delivered. Took it out on several trips and now I don't leave home without it. By the way - learned that it works hot OR cold! I've yet to try it iced - maybe this summer! Well done Alpine Start...thank you!
THE. Best. EVER!
Alright. I'm a coffee lover or all sorts and never once have I given a nod to instant coffee. Just wasn't my jam and I really enjoy the process of making coffee. BUT! A few weeks ago I discovered an article comparing campfire coffee brewing methods goof neck to neck. I was just floored an instant coffee (Starbucks VIA) was #1. So, I went out and got some to see what all the fuss was about. Ehh. It's alright. One was to bitter the other the flavor was just weird, but for the sake of packability and convenience I could see the winning argument for the coffee in general. Then I discovered these little gems. A start up company taking matters into their own hands making it a point to provide you with a GREAT cup of coffee. And seriously guys, this stuff is gooooooooood! For my coffee flavor preference, man this stuff just nails it head on. Costs a tad more than others, but it tastes better and I'm all about supporting the little guys trying to make their mark and keep us all happy. Support these guys, they've made you something magical.
Coffee Convert!
I tried this instant coffee for the first time at the Skirt Sports Ambassadors' Retreat. I'm normally a tea drinker, never having been one for the taste of coffee. But I gave this instant coffee a try and I'm so glad I did! I really adore this coffee. It mixes up well, tastes great, and doesn't leave a weird aftertaste when you've finished your cup of joe. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who enjoys caffeine!
Good instan cooffee
Bought 2 packs of ths coffee for a three week trip across India. It makes a very good cup of instant coffee without the instant coffee taste. Don't expect rich fresh brew coffee with this but it is the best instan coffee I have tasted, including Starbucks instant coffee.
This coffee was surprisingly really good! My wife and I are very picky coffee drinkers, and we were expecting it to be unbearable, but it was some of the best tasting coffee we've had in a while, not just for instant coffee, but coffee period. Preparing it was stupidly easy and the only downside is how long it took to heat the water. you can make two servings of coffee from one 16oz water bottle (aka, a normal sized bottle) and the water-to-coffee ratio is spot-on. I would recommend this coffee for anyone looking for instant coffee, not just for camping.
