I purchased these boots last year for a trip to Tremblant for Christmas 2022. My family did a woodsman day where we spent the day in subzero condition ice fishing, dog sledding, and hiking through like a foot of snow to a Bison reserve. Also did a couple of hikes with my dogs where we were in knew deep snow. These boots worked great. The keep my feet warm and dry (paired them with smart wool socks). The only draw back I will say is the shoes ket coming unlaced which is always a problem for round show laces.
Recently used these boots in temps around zero along with backpacking through 1-2 feet of snow. These are the best boots I have owned and they fit like a glove after one use. As the boots feel like you have always worn them. I probably put 50miles on them in a few days in the backcountry and they are by far the best boots I have owned and the 400gm insulation was perfect. I usually wear a size 12w but with these boots I got a size 14 and they fit great, the insulation was thick so that's why I went up in size.
I got this boot for winter backpacking. well made boot, easy to lace up in cold weather. The ice grip sole actually works, less need for traction add on's. Heel locks in well, generally a problem for people of my build, Tall and slender. 43Lb pack mild rolling terrain @ 28°F my feet were cooking. That I can expect from insulated boots. The one thing that is forcing me to make a change. -5°F high activity in 45 minutes my feet were numb. The issue is tight fit on top of foot (directly above arch) impeding blood flow. There is plenty of room in the toe box. I hope you find a great fit as I believe this will be a long lasting boot
I live at 9000' in the northern mountain west where it is generally quite snowy, windy, and cold for half the year. I practically live in these boots during the more frigid half of the year and even after extensive use I don't have a single complaint. I can pick out things I would change on just about every pair of footwear I own from ski boots to approach shoes but these have no obvious downside. They fit snuggly, offer great traction, are warm, and have a high level of durability. If you're looking for an all around winter boot, this is it. From late season hunting, to snow shoveling, to mellow winter peak bagging, these boots will not disappoint.
Great Boots, they holdup better than other boots I’ve tried, 6 months to a year longer. the only Issue I have had is with the tread separating and needing glued back on. I do like how well the tread cleans itself out, having tapered lugs. I Will Buy Again, Thank You!!!
This was my first time snowshoeing, but with these books I was so warm. I thought they were leaking, but it was sweat from the insulation. I then went for a hike in Lynn Canyon in the rain, and I was able to traverse the muddy river trails with no problem.
Really like Oboz boots, have a pair of hiking boots and needed snow boots so picked these up around November. Put a lot of snow shoeing miles on up in Northern Wisconsin this winter. They are excellent, feel great, warm and comfortable. Only issue is one of the boot hooks fell off around the fourth use. It was easier to bring in to my local shoemaker and have it replaced for $12, than go through the return process. Overall a great product.
I have about 75 miles on these boots now. They are the best fitting and most comfortable boots I have ever owned. They are very light and have a unique foot bed that takes a little getting used to. Excellent waterproof lining and great traction on rock or mud. These are great stalking boots that move like moccasins, one can be very quiet. I will buy Oboz again over other leading brands like Danner, etc. an Oboz size 12 is a 12, I have somewhat narrow feet with a bit of low arch, don't need my ortho support in these boots.. I've been telling my friends to buy these for Northern Wisconsin, or the Iron Range of Mn. I'm 69 and I live and work in Northern Wisconsin, also hunt on the Iron Range of far Northern Mn..
Nice boots, these boots are comfortable and warm. The 10 inch height has great support for my ankles. I use these boots year round and I wore out my first pair after a little over a year of hard use. The leather wore out at the seams around the front toe box. The soles and rest of the boot have held up very well.
these boots were recommended by two REI in-store staff and they explained to me why they felt this boots were just right for me in terms of sub-zero snow activities I was participating in as well for everyday walking, trekking, and city life. They were absolutely right! These are unquestionably the best hiking boots I have ever had. Not only did they serve me well in sub-zero snow hiking in Lapland, Finland, but they were great for trekking around the city and local hills. I will definitely be using them for a long time. Sturdy, comfortable, warm, water proof, great support, they make hiking much more comfortable and easier. They were worth the price!
