After Bite  Outdoor Insect Bite Treatment

Got this for a bike trip. We used bug spray, but still got bitten badly by bugs- mosquitos, spiders, and who knows what. This was recommended by a friend after we were talking about how bites affect people differently. I get big welts that last weeks from spider bites, and mosquito bites are almost as bad. Calamine lotion never seemed to do much as a kid, so I've just suffered thru the itching as an adult. This stuff is amazing! Takes the itch away, and possibly makes the bites go away faster, or heal faster. I used this little tube multiple times each day and night and after a 2 week trip, there's still plenty left. A little goes a long way. For bite relief it was amazing. Amazing. Trip changing. Amazing.

I learned about Afterbite from a fellow Birder who said, "It really works." I was skeptical because I have strong reactions to insect bites and even prescription meds don't give much relief. I tried Afterbite and it stopped the itch and continued to work until the next day. It is the only product that I have ever found that really works. It's a miracle. I hope REI continues to stock and sell it.

I got a mosquito bite in my dang eyebrow. As soon as I noticed I was itching I grabbed this tube and applied a pea sized bit or less. It worked so fast! Usually mosquitos make me swell up terribly and then itch of course. This never got puffy and stopped itching very quick. I do think the time from when you're bit to when you use it matters. I got a bite on my thigh that didn't seem to improve with this gel. I think I applied it a couple hours later.

I get an allergic reaction to most bug bites and they usually drive me crazy for days. AfterBite relieves this discomfort for me. I put it on right after getting the bug bites and experience minimal or no discomfort (itching).

I am a mosquito magnet. Prior to a recent 2 week trip to the Big Island, I went to REI to get products in small, carry on sizes that could help. I used After Bite on the bites I did get and it REALLY helped.

Does what it claims. I carry it now with me @ every hike!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This couldn’t have come at a better time! We’ve been infested with ankle-biting mosquitos this year, as well as the typical spiders. Due to this my feet and ankles have been an itchy mess, and it has been hard to find an effective product until now. Upon initial use, After Bite cured my itching within seconds, and lasted all day. So far, a small application in the morning goes a long way! In terms of product appearance, the box is bright green and easy to spot on the shelf. The red logo is also easy to read, and lets you know pretty much exactly what you’re getting. I like how the box specifically mentions protection from not just mosquitoes and flies, but ants and bees too! I plan on having this handy on all our camping trips because someone always gets stung by something. The tagline “Stronger Than the Nastiest Bug Bites” is also pretty catchy. The product itself is primarily Diphenhydramine HCI, but aloe, tea tree oil and other ingredients are included. The box states it’s recommended by pharmacists, which is nice to know. I would like to know more about how it works. Overall, this is my new favorite go to for bug bites. It’s fast and effective and lasts long. It helps with a variety of issues from bee stings to poison ivy!

Third tube of this stuff. It works great for treating insect bites and minor stings. Carry one with me on all major hikes or camping trips. Certain family members are mosquito magnets and don't do DEET, so this stuff is the antidote.
