Excellent pants for the office, and a hike after

Been a fan of Kuhl for some time now, wanted a pair of pants that could be a bit more indoor/casual/going out style instead of my usual hiking pants in brown or greenish. But still be ready to hit the trail if i didnt have time to change after work. After looking at my local REI location, This pant was the only one with the "Klassik" fit, I wish they carried more models in different fits, I believe they used to. The Kanvus model is exceptional! I bought the "klassik" fit; which is a tapered pant leg and hugs the legs juuust a bit, but no where near enough to classify as skinny pants. I guess the phone pocket is a new style slit, instead of having a external pocket, if your're familiar with the older style, both work well in keeping your phone easily accessible without it printing from your pockets. Fabric is amazing, very sturdy thick material like Jeans, but has enough stretch to accommodate any movement without binding up. A game of pool was no problem, picking up ping pong balls from the floor was not an issue, fabric simply stretches where you need it to. Hiking up steep rocks while sweaty was no issue at all. Went on a 5 mile hike in these pants, they were a bit hot, not as breathable as other Kuhl pants, but in central texas the humidity is going to make just about any pants hot. These will be very nice to wear in our mild winters.

Rip easily

Super stoked to get these pants! They are comfortable and feel "tough". Four hours later and the material rips by the rear pocket after jumping down and stretching the pants. Proceed to the pants to my local store for a warranty claim. Told that I was pretty rough on the jeans and they won't cover warranty. A bit shocked by this considering that REI is a large company and that these jeans weren't exactly cheap. -One less customer

Fly Unzips During Normal Use.

I love the fit and feel of these pants. However, the way the zipper is stitched in prevented them from zipping up all the way. Even with the pants off, the top of the zipper is sewn in tighter to the sides, pulling them away from each other (see image). As a result, the fly unzips itself during typical everyday movement. That makes them unusable for just about anyone that doesn't want to leave their front door open. REI took them back. I looked to see if other Kuhl pants on the shelf there had the same issue. Some did and some didn't. Every zipper was sewn in a little different at the top. It was very inconsistent. That's not acceptable at this price point!

Probably NOT your typical customer

I'm over 60, bulge out instead of in a tad. Not truly athletic, but do play dog agility often. Dog agility is a full day of: walk-walk-walk, move awkward stuff for next course, walk-walk, run like your butt is on fire 30 seconds, repeat. Pants look, and feel great at work too. No plans to use in summer weather. Only reason 4 stars is due to promise of 'unique' fading. Come-on guys, if you are going to havr a premium price point, at least use consistent dye! Okay, the snap long term is a concern too. All is good now have used several pair 25 times in 60 days. About 3 washes on most used color, no fading noticed...

Magic Material Pants have Flaws

6’3” 175lbs 32x32 — I bought these for work pants - highly active with dynamic movements. The fit is excellent, I have a long torso, so the 32” inseam on my low waist is just long enough to accommodate my height. this material is excellent for comfort and durability because it’s stretchy, breathable, and abrasion resistant. The Kanvus Jean are my favorite pants when I need functional durability. I’ve since adopted them for rock climbing as well, where they really shine. Comfortable under a harness and flexible enough for those heel hooks. The bad: as others have said, the snap button can come loose with a lot of pressure (example: doing a full-on sit-up). Also, the material holds stains like no other. I haven’t managed to get any of the dirt, grease, or food stains out after multiple washes.

Great fit, but poor snap design

Pants are comfortable and I like the fit. However the snap design pops too easily. I’m returning and will look for something else.

Super comfortable

These are great. Solid fit for those of us who are build stocky and shorter (I'm 5'9, 200 lbs, and got the 36 x 30). Lots of room to move around, and an easy fastener. A good balance between durable fabric and flexibility. They wash and fold well, so will come with me on travels as well.

Great fit

These pants fit great, are a perfect weight and have just enough pockets. They work for a meal out or a hike in the mountains.

The pants are a bit lighter than I expected, but that's not a bad thing. Otherwise great fit and great product.

Durable, comfortable, high quality pants

I had to buy my husband another pair of these jeans so I can wash one pair while he's wearing the other (*disclaimer: I feel like I should also tell you that he's 33 and I still make his dentist appointments). For what it's worth, he lives in these pants. They're made of a durable yet soft canvas material that appears to be impossible to stain. They stretch out a bit over time, and I'm told they're even more comfortable once they're broken in. They seem to run true to size, as he wears his regular jeans size in these pants.
