I tried several sweater fleeces like this looking for the perfect one. Compared to the standard Better Sweater, this one is lighter weight and therefore more suited to wearing indoors and layering. If you run warm like me, you'll probably prefer it. I like the buttons instead of quarter zip, and the large zippered pocket is going to be so useful. This style is also a more relaxed fit. My standard size medium fits perfectly, loose enough to allow easy movement but just fitted enough to look sharp - I'm 5'7" and 140lb. I bought it in black and it's so versatile, I'll be wearing it everywhere from work to camping trips.
Color is so off
I ordered this sweatshirt in the bleached stone color. The pictures make it look like a beautiful off white or beige sweatshirt. The color in person looks dingy - like a light brown in a way - almost looks dirty. I will be returning for a different color because I do love the style.
warm and light good for travel
I like that this pull over has the zipper marsupial pouch to keep phone/keys secure if needed. Pocket is big enough to keep both hands in to stay warm with a soft inner lining. I sized up from my regular small to have the option to layer since this is a lighter weight than regular better sweater. Also the medium allows for more range of motion in the arms for me. (For reference 5'5" 120lbs, torso slightly longer) I use the Patagonia size questionnaire and it was accurate for a slightly loose desired fit. If you want it more tailored fitted go with your regular size. It is also easier to pack since it is not as thick.
Love this versatile sweater!
I originally planned to get the Patagonia 1/4 Zip Better Sweater, but got this one instead because of the zippered front pocket. It's very useful!. I love the cut and design of this sweater. It's good for layering over and under other garments, without being too bulky. I'm 5'4" and 118 lb. I could fit into the XS, but it was a bit tight across the upper back, so I went with the S, which gives me a little more room for layering. Great sweater! Very happy with it.
Love this Sweater
I love this sweater!!!! It just arrived in the mail and I don't want to take it off. It's so soft, warm, cozy, flattering, and comfortable. I love everything about it from the snaps to the zipper kangaroo pockets to the lined collar to the perfect fit. I am 5'2" 107 lbs and the XS fits perfectly. It's not too long, the sleeves are just right, and the lightweight fabric is good for southern California weather---all year round. I'd like to buy it in the other colors (bought it in black), but already have similar pullovers in those colors from Patagonia that I also love!!! It's not too tight in the shoulder area, which makes it easy to take off. Patagonia always delivers a top quality product and this sweater is no exception.
Great for layering or wearing inside
I absolutely love this item! I overheat easily, but I do not have that problem with item. I wear it when I am walking to each of my classes as well as when I'm hiking and I'm never too hot or too cold. The middle pocket is very big so I can fit my phone, wallet, and keys with more room if need. I am 5'6" and I weigh 135 and a medium fits me perfect!
Love this!
I just received this and I cannot wait for it to get cold enough to wear it! I found that this item was a bit snug through the chest and waist area and longer than other better sweater items I own; however, it makes for a great streamlined look without being bulky. I'm happy I decided to order a size up. The quality is exactly what you would expect from Patagonia. I'm so excited about the zipped pockets!
Warm but not bulky
This is my favorite Patagonia product I own. It is so soft, cozy, and warm. I already owned the Better Sweater Quarter Zip, and I thought it was a bit bulky, so I thought I'd try this lightweight marsupial, and it is so much better looking. Nice and slim. I want to buy one in each color.
Perfect Pullover
This is the perfect pullover. I was a little hesitant to purchase it at first based on the price, but it is well made, fits nicely on my 5'6 frame (size medium), and is incredibly warm. I got a lot of compliments. Would definitely recommend.
Warm Layer Win
I love this pullover. It is the exact extra warmth I needed this winter / spring. It is not too tight around my body (a must have). It has zippers for the full pocket (another win win)! Seriously. I love this pull-over
