On Par with Oakley Latch Square
I forgot my dailies, Oakley Latch Square, in my car at the airport one early, cold, and rainy morning as I was heading to sunny California for a camping trip. Luckily, I stopped into an REI for some other things and spotted the Sunski Headlands. They had all of the features of my dailies; they're lightweight, stay on my face and clipped into my collar well, and have good tinting/polarization for all-day use. They were also much more reasonably priced :) I'm really glad that I found them.

Terrible quality - broke immediately
These sunglasses broke after three uses. They are made of very fragile plastic material. The lens popped out instantly while cleaning and the nose snapped when trying to put the lens back in. Don't waste your money!

The frame cracked

I purchased the Headlands Grey Lime in the summer of 2020. Unfortunately, for seemingly no reason other than regular use, the top portion of the lens broke. I was hoping that these sunglasses would have lasted longer than they did. The worst part about plastic frames breaking is the thought of them sitting in a landfill for the next 300 years or so. Trying to avoid that, I attempted to fix them with super glue, but that did not work out. I primarily used these sunglasses for driving in my car and for running outside. It would be cool if Sunski did things to work against plastic pollution, which they might, I just don’t know about it.

so durable.

I originally bought my first pair of Sunski shades I think like 6-7 years ago on Zappos. Loved the pair, but I have to admit I did not treat them well. I put that pair of shades through so much abuse and they didn't get a scratch on them. Dropped them many timers, and still they wiped clean. UNTIL... I actually dropped the pair into my TOOL bag, left them for a week and then found them while I was digging for tools. Two small scratches appeared on the lenses. Amazingly durable pair. Headlands Grey black. Ill buy that pair again. Ray Bans scratch if you look at them wrong. These are trully lifetime shades if you simply keep them out of tool bags.

Headland in the Rocky Mountains

They were a gift for my son. I gave them to him before a day of hiking, disc golfing and mini-golfing. He wore them all day!

Why Buy Ray-Bans?

The Sunski Headland (same style as Ray-Ban New Wayfarer) is simply quality, quality, quality at a reasonable price from a company that understands service and a genuine commitment to our planet. After cataract surgery gave me near perfect far vision and pretty good near vision (I do wear drug store 2.0 glasses for really fine work) I bought 2 pairs of Sunski Headlands - one with the Grey Lens (Grey/Black) and one with the green mirrored lens (Grey/Lime). Since I really wanted an amber lens I ordered a lens kit Madrona Brown and removed the green lens. At the same time I got a pair of amber lens Ray-Ban Wayfarers with a very, very small prescription in them. I have compared the Sunski's and many times more expensive Ray-Bans head to head every day for three weeks now. Honestly no real benefit to the Ray-Bans - except for the logo if that matters to you. BTW, changing the lens was dead easy once you get over the feeling that you are going to break them. Sunski customer service personified by Jesse was personal and amazing when I had questions. Am I happy? Absolutely. Photos: (L) Ray-Ban New Wayfarer, (R) Sunski Headland

BEST SHADES EVER

these shades are the best. so light & comfortable. they don't leave marks on the top of my nose & they don't pinch in around my ears on the back of my head. also, they have the perfect grey tint, not too dark...just right for my blue eyes. awesome for cloudy days, hikes in the forest, and full-on sunshine. my 1st pair fell off of a mountain, my 2nd pair just fell into the river yesterday...time for a cord, i know! ordering my 3rd pair as soon i get paid. i will never not have a pair of these.
