I've had these boots for a year and a half now. Out of the box they were great - perfect fit, good support, and waterproof through wet fields and stream crossings though water does seep in if you have to be in standing water for any extended amount of time. Dries out within a day. However, as soon as the weather turned warm these boots turned into a sauna. There was zero breathability in these boots. I wear these regularly for my job as an environmental educator in a NJ state forest. After about a year all arch support was gone. Adding after-market insoles made the toebox too small.
I've just received these boots and couldn't wait to slip them on.I was amazed at how soft they were inside the shaft and instep and how...cushiony, bouncy the footbed is. I took the insole out to add my orthotics and they're still awesome. One, somewhat upsetting flaw - there is an untrimmed seam inside the toebox of the left boot and it hurts; like if you need to trim your toenails and they're rubbing at the front of your shoe. Once I put my midweight socks on, the pain went away, but I can still feel the seam. I'm hoping I won't experience rubbing. I typically wear a 10.5 and ordered an 11. They feel custom made. I'm planning to wear these tomorrow on my first hike in more than a year. I'll update on how they wear on the trail. Bottomline, buy these! They're beautiful and comfy and sort of feel like super cushy sneakers.
