The perfect balance of warmth and cool

I run hot, so jackets often cause me to sweat, but this one keeps me warm, while not causing me to overheat during moderate exercise. It is light, the pockets are well placed and hold enough to be practical. The cuffs are not too tight and the material isn't scratchy and the hem adjuster is good for keeping out draft (or letting some in). I have not yet had it get wet, so I can't comment on how it handles some drizzle/rain.

Not Mountain Hardwear quality

I hardly ever write reviews, but was really disappointed with this jacket. I don't really understand why Mountain Hardwear put their name on it. It's poorly proportioned, and despite the 800 fill down extremely thin. The narrow sewn-through baffles mean that cold air will get to you quickly. You will be warmer with a fleece top that costs a fraction of this.

Great jacket for the price.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) True to size very warm and light. Didn’t need to pluck any feathers but if you do see them don’t pluck them out but pull them from behind back into the jacket. This happens with all down jackets. It has ‘Ripstop’ fabric so it does not created long years because the material is thin but durable. Plus you can store this jacket into its own pocket and it’s 800 full. Light but very tough. It looks great and I highly recommend!! I bought another jackets different style I was so pleased with this one. But this jacket is very versatility especially between -5 to +15 weather temp. Jacket of all trades and two big inner pockets that can easily fit my iPad mini.

Not very durable

I loved the look and feel of this jacket, but some of the seams started to give after only a month of casual wear.

Accurate fit, good quality, a little smelly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this jacket. It's everything advertised and more. I'm 179 cm (5'10" ish) and 68 kg (150 lb). The arm length is perfect. The torso length is perfect. It has slightly more girth than I expected or prefer. It's a "regular" fit opposed to a mountaineering or "athletic" fit but I got over it quickly. Articulation is easy with no restrictions and cuffs stay in place. Sadly, I'm going to return this product due to odor; it smells like it's been stored in a damp warehouse or worn previously. My partner says I smell like a wet dog and I've only worn it in our home while trying it on. Tags are still on it in fact. I let it air out two days and the jacket still smells like an animal.

Excellent Down Jacket

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is my 2nd MH down Jacket and I am quite happy with it. The Nitrous down jacket has an excellent 800 fill-power, and is a great balance between weight and warmth. It is a 'thinner' down jacket, however, I find it extremely warm; example, we keep our thermostat at 18°C/64°F, and this jacket is too warm to be walking around doing chores. Outside, below -5°C/23°F, it requires a bit of activity to warm up, but once your generating heat, its good to go. My only critique is the jacket did seem to lose feathers more than I liked when new, but less so now (if that makes any sense). I purchased in the bright blue, and colour representation is accurate. Fit is slim, but still with enough room not to feel restricted.

Athletic Fit, Great Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased this jacket and I'm very happy with it. This jacket tends to run on the "slim fit" sizing which is great for an athletic build. Previously jackets I purchased were too boxy, fits well in the shoulder but the torso was too large. The fit and finish is excellent as well. I travel a lot for work so this is a very versatile jack that is light weight, compact, and provides enough warmth throughout the year. I'm 5'9" 180lb.

fashionably lightweight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is very thin and light, Great for backpacking. Love the baffel design that moves away from the traditional horizonal stitching. Don't be fooled for how light this jacket is, it is much warmer than you think. The Altitude blue color pops and I get so many complements on it. This is my new daily jacket to wear on my way to work. It packs up so small I will also be taking on my backpacking trips this summer in the mountains.

Perfect New Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love! Love! Love! this jacket. The fit is perfect, I am 5'10" and 155 lbs and it fits great. There is a little room for layering and still form fit for just wearing a t-shirt. The new quilted pattern is nice and sporty. The overall length and weight is also nice. This is excellent all around lightweight jacket. I bought the black color and it is perfect for casual to business.

looks great but very light weight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great looking jacket in black for casual or business casual use. It's a very light weight jacket which I'd consider great for spring and fall and temps above 40. Make a good thin layer. For colder temps and outdoor use in colorado during winter I need a heavier jacket. So I say it depends on your use and temps how well this jacket meets your needs.
