Feel like a kid again

Remember your first bicycle, likely found next to a Christmas tree? Relive that moment. With tons of backpacking and running experience, the miles add up, the years accumulate, aches develop where aches hadn't been. Looking for a way to get off a bad foot (plantar fasciitis), but stay active, cycling seemed logical. I needed something I could throw in the car, drive to a beautiful waterfront bikepath (no bike lanes on the roads in our area), and roll. This bike does the trick. I fold up the Tern, placing it in the back of a Fiat 500 (true!) The bike is nimble, smooth-shifting, responsive, no frills... exactly what I wanted.

Feel like a kid again!

Bought my bike 3 weeks ago and I'm so happy I bought a folding bike, it goes we're I go and it's confertable to ride. I parked 3 miles away and was able to ride it to the mall with no problem. I didn't have a clue how to folded but I managed with You Tube videos. It had wear and tare plus sales person wanted to do the sale and me out the door I still bought it. Next time I will talk to a professional sales person not one the rushes and gets the commission on the sale. Over all it's a great bike.!!!!

Perfect for me now!

Several years ago, I sold my pickup truck and gave my mountain bike to our son who lived in Colorado. We recently moved close to Lake Las Vegas and I wanted to bike more (bad knees are stopping my running habit). I did not want to purchase a bike rack for my Honda CR-V. Did some research on folding "commuter" bikes, and they sounded like a good fit. I could not find a dealer in Las Vegas area, then discovered REI had a couple in stock. Took a brief test ride and was sold. No, it doesn't have full suspension for Moab and trails in the mountains. Henderson has developed an extensive network of paved bike trails and this works just perfectly. I value having a dealer to service it as well! I am very pleased with my purchase!

Perfect Commuter

I bought this bike 3 months ago to commute to work in Phoenix AZ. It is better than expected. The ride is smooth and the gears shift effortlessly. It does not feel like a “small” bike. I have also taken it on 20+ mile leisure rides around the city with no issues. I own several more expensive bikes but this is the first bike I have bought that I haven’t had to replace the saddle. It is easy to fold. I use the included bungee cord to keep it secure. It is a little heavy but ok to carry short distances. I would not recommend carrying it on the chain side. The wheels are not quick release but I have not had a flat in over 1000 riding. I bought a small bike tool that easily removes the tires when needed. There are several accessories for carrying items. I bought a waterproof bag sold by Tern that clicks into secure into the rear rack to hold a lock, tube, tools and anything else I want. This is the most versatile bike I own and perfect for getting around town. The employee that assisted me at the Paradise Valley store Carey Antoszewski was friendly and helpful. There are more expensive models and brands that are great but if you want a comfortable, solid, affordable folder, take a look at this one.
