Was really hoping this would work for me, but a size S/M is really more of a medium. I had to cinch down both front straps to the max & it still wasn't enough. I'm a petite 5'2" female with a 17" torso length. The bottom of the pack dug into my lower back.. The pack bounced terribly when running, to the point that I ended up hiking most of the route. Wish they made an XS/S size.
I was looking for a way to do an unsupported 50 miler (after doing an unsupported 50k). With no access to a clean source of water and a running pack that could hold only a max of 4 liters pretty much, I needed something larger. UD has the only decent solution at this time, and I took it for a test starting with 7 liters and going for 11 miles. I believe this pack does the job. Just need to carry the water in the main compartment to lower bounce instead of the large side pockets (I had 1 liter in each large side pocket to start, but moved them in the center after a short while and it felt much better). With this weight of liquid, food and some accessories, the run felt much harder compared to a run at a supported ultra event, but it makes the unsupported long distances actually possible with warm weather.
