Sizing Notes

For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

Great boot

So far I've had these for 3 weeks. I have to say that they are very comfortable. I wear these for work so I wear them for 10 to 12 hrs a day. I have plantar fasciitis and have not had a problem since I started wearing these.

Comfortable boots but lack durability
Scottwallace22

Purchased these boots online after trying them on in store and further shopping around, comfort and flexibility were apparent right away. Unfortunately after a trip to Mt. Katahdin, about 12 miles total, they are already falling apart and I haven't even owned them a week yet. The heel portion of the boot called the impact brake system has a noticeable separation from the rest of the boot on both of them and looks like it will further separate with continued use. Cannot Recommend these boots.

Amazing Boot

These are the best boots I've ever owned and they lasted me exactly 1 year and 6 months. I wore these almost every day and took them on endless hikes and urban walks. They got wet, dirty, salty, snowy, muddy, and lasted the test of time. Even the laces are still in good shape which are usually the first to go. To top it off, they didn't leak 1 time and they've been really wet for several days at a time. If I had 1 complaint it's that they aren't warm at all, but hat was easily fixed with a thick wool sock. Eventually, the soles got too soft and and warn out... One feature that I think is commonly overlooked is the ability to lace these half way up and then they will easily slip on and off. This is a key feature if you want to convert to a quick slip on boot. I'd buy these again in a heart beat.

Very comfortable, good waterproofing, breathable

I used these boots all year and went on a on a 13 day Elk hunt in the Colorado Rockies. I was looking for a "Do-It-All" boot that can handle the dry, the wet, warm, and the cold. This boot is 95% there. First up, the waterproofing is excellent. Let's be honest, nothing is 100% waterproof. If you are expecting to have any boots exposed to long periods of very wet conditions, your feet will get a little wet. That being said, I wore these boots in heavy snow (>18 inches) for days, went through rain, and waded into a lake with water up past the laces and these boots held up. The worst I had was a little wet spot on my little toe. They are comfy for long days of hiking, are super grippy on a variety of surfaces, and have a great support. They also breathe extremely well. This is fantastic when the weather is warm, but made my feet very cold in winter conditions. If you wear these in cold weather, your feet will be cold. All in all they are the best boots I have ever had!

Light as Air

I bought these on a whim to do a quick 20 mile weekend trip-10 up and 10 down (who breaks in a pair of boots like that?). My Old hiking boots were no longer water proof. Forecast was rain non stop. We spent both days in pouring rain - the trail was most time a 3 inch running creek-- river crossings with swollen rivers - stepping stones no longer visible- I crossed one swollen river and the water went clear to the top of this boot -- had to stand there quite a while to regain my balance. Anyway-- not one sore or" hotspot" anywhere-- and I was the only one to return with dry socks......UNBELIEVABLE!!! Amazing boots....

The summer scramble boot

Always saw this boot on other hikers and after a sale finally grabbed mine. No wonder so many people have this boot, its pretty amazing all around. Used it climbing Mt St Helens with crampons to trail running. Its a good all around boot and is amazing in summer scrambles cause of the protection. I bought it and took it up to Camp Muir the next day and St Helens on the monitor route that same week, works right out of the box! Only thing I dont like is the waterproofing failed after 200 miles, still will keep you try if you step in a couple puddles, takes some time for the water to get in. Will buy this shoe again once mine is worn out

Super Comfortable But Not At All Durable

I bought these boots last August and was really excited to start using them. They are very light, look cool, and fit my feet great. Now the bad part. I live in Tucson and hike on a lot of rocky trails. The rocks are tearing up the soles and mid-soles of these boots, and the soles are not stiff enough to protect your feet from feeling them. The sole is separating from the mid-sole on the rear of both boots, as another reviewer mentioned. They're just not durable, sad to say, because they certainly are comfortable. I'd like to see La Sportiva design another boot with this upper but a more durable mid-sole and sole. In that case, I'd buy another pair. As is, no thanks. I'm returning them.

Great shoe overall but has fragile lace hooks

I bought these shoes a few years ago and took them on 3 30ish mile backpacking trips. They were very comfortable right off the bat and did not give me any foot trouble. However the top metal lace hook broke off and the other top lace hooks look like they will break soon. I would expect them to last longer than this.

Really wanted to give 5 stars...

I am a tree climber by trade and bought these as a pair of climbing boots for work. I love almost everything about these boots. They are comfortable being on my feet all day, have a nice soft sole that is great for tree climbing without spurs, and they are light. All things that are very important ro me. I have not worn them through a winter yet, so I can't speak to how well they will be in the snow. My only disappointment with these boots is that one of the speed hooks broke off after only a couple months of use. If that hadn't happened so soon, these boots would have 5 stars. Still a 4 star boot for sure.

Best Hiking Boots Ive ever had

I took these on a 25 mile hike through the Wilcox Wild Forest in Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY. Late April, weather was rainy and temps in the low 40s, lows in the 30s. Of course the trail was muddy and wet, my feet were dry. I found the boots to be very comfortable and no break in was needed. The only thing was the laces are para cord type laces and they were difficult to keep tightly tied. I double knotted them and they still came lose several times. The thing is, I still didnt get any blisters or hot spots. My feet were a little cold at times but I prefer that over hot and sweaty. The tread was grippy on most surfaces but I did slip a few times on wet rocks. Over all I would say these are the best boots Ive ever hiked in.

Super tread grip plus excellent all-day comfort.

I tried on hiking boots at REI for over two hours. These boots, although I had never heard of the brand, impressed me with excellent uphill and downhill grip. And after standing around for 15 minutes, zero fatigue. Now I've spent nearly 100 hours in them and over 2,000 ft. of elevation gain/loss I am in love. Best hiking boots I've ever owned. The provided insoles are as comfortable as house slippers-very cushiony. I also use green superfeet insoles for strenuous hiking and all-day/night hiking. Well worth the modest price.
