Overpriced

This is a disappointing kit for $100. It claims it can meet the needs of 7 people for 14 days, yet the supplies are seriously lacking for that size of group over that period of time. There were just two blister dressings, for example, just three After Bite wipes, and just three Triple antibiotic ointments. You'd be better designing your own kit with reasonable quantities.

Great overall, with a couple shortcomings

I like this kit overall. PROS: - The layout is very nice and easy to find what you are looking for by category. - I think it has all the basic items you would need and a decent price. I actually priced out all the individual items in the kit and found it would cost about $25 more to build the kit myself, not including the Wilderness and Travel Medicine Guide. So unless there are enough items in the kit you don't want to offset the cost of building one yourself, the price is probably reasonable. CONS: - The bag material doesn't feel overly durable. I have an older, discontinued Adventure Medical Kits "Weekender" kit with a seemingly more durable bag. It's not like it will tear right away, but I don't know about it's long-term durability if you use it a lot in the field vs. just sitting in your house or a vehicle trunk. I also don't know how the external zipper will hold up if you pack it tight with extra supplies. - There is not a lot of room to fit extra items. I removed the Wilderness & Travel Medicine guide, then was able to add a CAT Gen7 tourniquet, a QuikClot Z-fold Combat Gauze, a flat-packed 4" pressure dressing, two 7.5" x 4.5" chest seals, a compact emergency (space) blanket, two polycarbonate eye shields, and two 30mL vials of sterile saline. It was a little tight to get the zipper closed, but seems to work okay. I was hoping to add additional saline, adhesive bandages, and medicine packets, but I think that would have made the bag too thick to zip closed due to the way all the pockets fold into the bag. It would be nice if the bag were a little bigger, without having to purchase the next largest kit (Mountain Series Mountaineer) at twice the price. Better yet, it would be nice to have the option to separately order the contents and the size bag you want. - I wish you had the option to purchase any of the Adventure Medical Kits without the Wilderness and Travel Medicine Guide, which would save you around $17.00. My 3-year old Mountain Series "Weekender" kit came with the same 4th edition of this guide as each of the two brand new "Guide" kits I purchased contained. So now I have three copies of the same book, at least two of which I don't need or want. Overall I would recommend the product, unless you plan to treat the bag roughly or want to add a lot of extra supplies. It might be better to keep trauma supplies (which tend to be the bulkier items) in a different kit and just use this one for general first-aid items.

Good start, room to improve

Ordered online and hard the kit delivered to my home. Generally disappointing. Specifically, the "stop bleeding fast" and the "wound care/burn/blister" compartments - only one person can have a serious bleed, once per trip. I did order a couple of IFAKs with proper means of stopping a gusher to supplement this kit. I like the way the kit is organized, and fortunately there is enough of room to add supplemental supplies to the compartments listed above. Last of all, I have had this kit in hand a few hours, and opened it maybe 3 times. Every time I am afraid I will rip the zipper. Feels very delicate.

Ready for everything

I keep it in my car due to it being heavy. It's great though because I feel like I'm ready for everything and anything.
