Sized wrong and hot

They changed the pattern and fabric . They are 95% nylon now and two inches bigger in the waist. The new ones are hot and I sweat in them. They won't stay up without a belt. I have 5 older pair that fit great and I don't get sweaty in them.

Best Hiking Shorts- Ever.

Ounce for ounce, the best hiking shorts- check that- the best shorts period, that i have ever owned. The fabric is lightweight and supple, sheds water and dirt equally well, and the cut allows for all manner of leg extensions without bunching up in tight corners. The pockets are ideal- 2 front, 2 rear, 2 side with open tips for smart phone access, and 2 side pockets with shielded zippers for secure carry items like wallets. These are easily the best shorts I will ever own. #sostoked

Not what they used to be

I have a pair of Renegade shorts I bought in 2014. Still look brand new and wear them multiple times a week during the summer. Love hiking / water activities in them. Newer models are not as durable of a material and the snaps... worst closure anything on any pair of pants / shorts I have ever had. New versions will not stay closed. Not sure how this passes QC. Love the items I have that are 8 years old but dubious about buying anything else moving forward as quality just isn't the same. Sadly this isn't only an issue with Kuhl, it's with most brands.

The Perfect Shorts!

I really love these shorts. I already had the same shorts with an 11" inseam. The 12" is even better since I like my shorts long. They are very comfortable, durable, stretchy, stylish, and all the pockets are very handy. The snap is a bit tight, but that is actually a good thing since it is unlikely to come undone.

Best All Purpose Shorts

These shorts fit true to size (stretch material allows for expansion after a big meal too). Most comfortable hiking shorts I've worn to date. Hike, swim, then walk around with no chaffing or discomfort. Being tall, the 12" inseam is ideal. I wear these year round (yes even when it's cold) whether I'm working in the yard, out on the trail or out running errands. I rarely write a review for a product, but this product is amazing! Happy trails!

Excellent shorts

I bought the tall version of these shorts, and they are long, but I'm 6'4" and they fit very well. Great shorts, overall Kuhl clothes are high quality typically as well.

Awesome 12" technical shorts!

The Renegade shorts are the best technical shorts I've owned. Just the right amount of stretch, quick drying and fit just right without being too baggy or too tight. In the hottest conditions these shorts never restricted my motion on the trail or while kayaking. They also look great off the trail as casual shorts. The 12" inseam is a bonus for those of us taller than 6'5". The 12" Ambush Cargo shorts is another great option to add to your collection.

Kuhl Renegade Anything

Kuhl Renegade, absolutely the best shorts and pants I have ever owned (18 pairs, all still going strong). Hand wash or machine, dries instantly, wears like iron, no pilling, stretchy, snaps never fail, tons of concealed pockets, worth every penny!!!!

Quality product, but they changed the material.

I am a huge fan of Kuhl products. I have three pairs of the pants (can't remember what they are called, but mine are light and super comfortable) and have about four pairs of their shorts. Two are 12" and two are 10". The first pairs I bought probably 8 years ago had a soft and stretchy material and other than the side pocket getting ripped when caught on a table, were just a super comfortable product to walk around in or go out for an evening. Last year I ordered two more pairs of the charcoal gray and while they are excellent and very durable, the material is no longer the same soft and stretchy as my previous pairs and are modestly heavier and not as comfortable. It is still a very good product but I can't give it five stars. Now the pockets are tremendous. There are a lot of them and one can easily take a cell phone to walk around in comfortably and have had no issues at all. I love the zippered lower pockets so I can put a money clip in without any worry of it falling out or being pickpocketed. The 32's fit me perfectly (6 ft, 160-165) and I like the 12 inch inseam more than the 10's.
