Great Light
I just bought the light and have only used it to show others how I can plug it in to my new Venture 30 and Nomad 7 solar panel. I have not been able to use it while camping or for any other reasons. But, I am sure it will work fine. I love the size and the light fits in the mesh lining of my nomad with the Venture 30. I purchased the Venture 30 because when I use my smart phone for music or GPS the battery runs out quickly and I need something to help me during short weekend camping trips. I also use it with my Rock out speaker and Nano. I will not be able to be able to give you a good comparison of the pros and cons until I use it more.

Great lights!
We mainly use our lights when we camp. We use them in the personal tents during the evening with one of the Goal Zero power units. The light uses so little power that we have never run the power unit down. We also use the in the big dining fly we use, hanging one or two over the table and that allows us to cut back on using the propane camp light that are quite bright but also hot and take room on our table. This year we're adding two more lights to the dining fly just to add to the overall light level. But really usable light, very little power use. We also charge our power units on a larger Goal Zero unit using the solar panels. Love these products.

Excellent for tent
I was typical about this light until I use it for camping. I love Mini Light because of its features. It's compact and light. It functions just like Light-A-Life light, but it does not have a dimmer which I hope for. Overall, it's great in the tent or outside of your tent. I like the fact that you have two in one: spotlight or lantern. I use it with 10 Adventure and 50 Sherpa battery packs. I don't use the USB much, but it is a brilliant idea to have for chaining and charging other devices. The only thing that I wish this light comes with a sack where I can store it away in my backpack. This mini light is excellent to take with you for backpacking and car camping. You won't regret it.

A very bright light.
The Goal Zero light A Life mini is a very nice little light, I purchased this light because I wanted a small light that didn't draw much power that I could run off my Goal Zero Yeti 150 that I charged up with a nomad 13m solar panel. I would highly recommend this light, the only thing I wish was that it could be around the 10 to $15 range not $20 because it is a small light with a USB cord on it. It does cost a bit but is very high quality. One thing I will say is it can get very hot when running on the high brightness setting.
Love it... Genius!
I hook it up to my Venture 30 and it works awesome! I have a big version of this setup and it's awesome to have a little compact size that can go with you anywhere. Absolutely brilliant design! These lights are AWESOME! Definitely worth it.. The only thing I'd say that could improve this would be a retractable cord or something similar. 5* for sure.

Warning: must be plugged in all the time!
The package says you should connect it to a "recharger"—implying you can charge it. But it has no battery! You have to keep this light plugged into a USB power source all the time. It shuts off the instant the you disconnect it, and does not last 4+ hours as implied on the box.
See the LIGHT
I purchase the light's about a month ago. 2 Things they on pull about 1 watt per. When all three are plugged in that's 3 watts so my Venture 30 can burn 1 light for about 28 hours. I can't even start thing how long my Yetti 400 could run them or maybe 1 light for 400 hours ! Now thing 2 they only have one setting on & off oh did I mention BRIGHT ! Good thing they cam out with the light a life 350 high & low great. But the mini's are great as well.

Does not work with Lighthouse MIni
Bought this to add to my lighthouse mini and it does not work in the 1A usb port. Its is an excellent light but does not work with all Goal Zero products. I am very disappointed by this.
UNIQUE MINI LIGHT
NEAT SIZE AND VERY ADAPTABLE SMALL LIGHT THAT ATTACHES TO ANY USB OUTLET OR A SIMILAR SMALL BATTERY USB CAPABLE ACCESSORY. GREAT TO USE IN OUT OF DOORS AS WELL AS WORK SHOP FOR SOE OF THE DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS OF REQUIRED LIGHT FOR HANDS ON WORK. PURCHASED THIS ONE AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT BUT HAVE ONE OF MY OWN AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A SMALL SIMPLE AFFORDABLE LIGHT.

Nice execution
Good stuff. I am powering them (2) with a Li-Ion battery pack for charging phones...very handy. Quite bright, long lasting, much more useful (though it might be just about perfect w a low light option) than the Luna or the Firelight USB lamps. I am sourcing an almost new Sherpa power pack so am going to be interested to see how much more capacity I have on winter campouts and kayak camp trips.
