Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Few Days... I purchased the bike through I had looked at bikes for over a month trying to hone in on the exact thing I was looking for. I have put over 2500 miles on a $250 mountain bike in the last 2 years. It has been great, but I was having issues that led me to think about purchasing a new bike. Even though I rode a mountain bike all the time, the majority of my riding (at least 65 - 70%) was on pavement. That led me into the hybrid search. However, some of my off pavement riding is on trails around a lake a in my area. It has lots of roots and rocks that would beat a regular, rigid frame bike to death. I started looking at bikes with front suspension, lockout capabilities, hydraulic disk brakes, a comfortable riding position, wide enough tires to go off road, but still move efficiently on pavement, and as many other things as I could get for less than $1000. My wife and I have 3 kids (one in college) and spending more than that didn't seem like a smart financial decision. I've ridden the bike twice in the first 4 days of ownership. I've put a total of 20 or so miles on it. It is performing very well so far. My only complaint - and it's not really with the bike - is the tires that use tubes with prista valves seem to leak air more than standard valve tubes. I'm a big guy, so I'm sure I put more stress on tires, tubes, wheels, spokes, etc than most people, but it's aggravating having to put air in tires before every couple rides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hybrid Bike I bought this bike a few weeks ago for recreational riding on paved trails, some gravel and dirt, and mainly suburban bike trails and streets. It's perfect for that - the hydraulic shocks make the ride very comfortable and the handling of the bike is outstanding. The disc brakes are just right - plenty of stopping power without being overly abrupt. I've put over 100 miles on it so far in all the terrain types I typically ride and thoroughly enjoy the bike. It's a great product and lot's of bang for your buck. I highly recommend it for street/light trail riding. Also, as usual, customer service at REI is outstanding -

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pavement Bike I bought this bike a few weeks ago, after taking it on several rides around town and on some trails it is a dream. Smooth ride, easy shifting and one finger breaking. If you are in the market for a new bike, you can't go wrong. Highly recommend this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Co-op CTY 2.2 Exceeds Expectations I have had the CTY 2.2 for less than a month and have ridden approximately 120 miles. I have had hybrid bicycles for over 15 years and ride approximately 60 miles a week on light off road and roads with hills. The CTY 2.2 appears solid, handles well, and exceeds expectations in ride comfort, braking and gearing range. One of the main reasons I made this purchase was the three chainring front sprocket. The double chainrings do not seem to give the same gear range and I like having the higher high and a lower low end. The lock out front fork shock is a good feature and easy to use. The components are adequate but not special; however, the overall package provides smooth shifting and sufficient gear options for most of the terrain I will ride. I added a suspension seat post and gel seat; spd pedals, kick stand, bike computer, lights and racks. The stock equipment is good but the adds are beneficial for everyday riding. The CTY 2.2 competes well with bikes at/or above the CTY 2.2 price point and the bike appears to be an excellent value.
