A solid and affordable waterproof shell

I've owned both this and the Venture waterproof shells and have had good experiences with both. This is essentially the Venture without some of its features, making it the most affordable shell The North Face offers. Though it is very waterproof, throughout my time with it I missed having the ability to vent my arm pits, to adjust the hood, and to cinch the waist (all things that the Venture offers). That being said, it spends more time in my closet as I've gone back to using The Venture. Bear in mind that this is just my experience with it as I'd be quick to recommend it to anyone looking for a good waterproof she'll that won't break the bank. *tip: The Resolve fits a bit bigger than most jackets so keep this in mind if you're ordering online.

Great Jacket, but disappointing hood

Overall, really like the jacket. The jacket is light yet feels very sturdy. The mesh liner seems to be out of style compared to laminated 3rd/.5 layer but I much prefer it. The brushed collar is also nice. Overall, very nice jacket. Unfortunately I'm returning the jacket because the hidden cord locks are simply not strong enough to keep the hood cinched against moderate wind.

Ongoing zipper issue

The zipper keeps getting stuck in a position where the jacket is essentially useless. I've sent multiple jackets back for repair, and 12months later, i still have a jacket in which you cannot open the zipper.
