As all other North Face summit series products it does not disappoint. I have been using North Face since the early 80s in all of my outdoor objectives and The North Face seems to have it figured out, I have ventured out to Patagonia, Mountain Hardware, a few other various brands, but from the basic beanie hat to the highly technical future fleece The North Face continues to lead the pack on being the best of the best. I wouldn’t trust my life to anything else, but North Face and I have been in some very inhospitable places and yet it is a bit pricey, but it’s not situation where you ask yourself, can you afford it but It’s more of a situation where can you afford to be without it?
On first use, less than an hour during a light rain, significant discoloration in multiple places that has lasted for days. Unsure if this affected its waterproof integrity. Not ok for a jacket that cost $350. Would not recommend.
It's definitely not thigh-length. Large is 32 inches on the hanger. The 35.75 inches must be measured from the chin with the zipper closed.
Ordered both S and M, the S is too small over the hips, the jacket is sliding upwards all the time. M is too large in the stomach/chest area. Improve the fit and you have a killer jacket. Also, make the pocket higher, they are fine with harness but not high enough for hip belt. Shift the main zipper slider to the other side (all my jackets have it on the left. Also, make the phone holder inner mash on both sides.
The jacket fits me perfectly. The jacket is very high quality. I can fold it up into a small package and stick in my camera bag.
Great jacket, a little bit fuller cut, but it's ok I can layer under it better. Light and waterproof, well built
Great jacket, well built. I'm back to TNF after a long leave. The Summit Series is still incredible
