Great firm waterproof neutral walking shoes
With high arches (foot tends to roll out) and not being super light weight, many shoes are uncomfortable with the way they compress or roll the foot or wear out quickly from not enough firmness to the soles. These shoes are neutral ( many brands now give support to the more common tendency to roll in instead) and are firm (not made of light plastic soles that compress easily) yet give enough impact protection to joints and back. The shoes are also pretty waterproof for walks in the rain and don’t make the foot look huge despite room for toes. They come in a variety of interesting colors. A great find.
Great for wide feet. No break in needed.
Very comfortable and supportive. Sturdy. Waterproof. Year round all-day wear. Grip is great on rainy snowy days. Need to lace to put in and out. You can’t slip it on but they keep your feet secure and in place with the laces. The gray/blue goes with anything.
My new favorite pair!
The shoes are very elegant and stylish, fit great, and are extremely comfortable. I have wide feet and was worried that the medium fit might be too tight, but that was not an issue at all. The shoes are quite roomy in the toe box. I highly recommend them.
Many Good features in Dansko Hiking shoes
I would have given these shoes 5 stars if I could have kept them. and I recommend them highly if you can get a good fit in them. The heel was too wide for me, which resulted in rubbing of stiff edges around the ankle. The shoes run big, like my other Danskos, which I appreciate, because I hoped to wear them with thicker hiking socks. I have another style of Dansko with the same Vibram sole and fit but they are not lace up, and the slip in the heel gives is not an issue since those shoes function as an extra-secure clog. Depending on how you intend to use the shoes, you may need to size down one European size from the size chart. The weight of the shoe would have likely kept me from wearing these shoes on trails, but the Vibram will hold up well and give plenty of traction for walking on pavement or gravel, which was my intent. I wear my shoes with custom orthotics, so the extra cushioning and resulting "give" in the Dansko insert's heel was not a problem for me. Some people probably appreciate it, but it would not have worked in my case. An Oregon Hiker

The shoes are well made and the size was true. The arch was uncomfortable for me so I returned.
