Good Pant But Missing One Key Feature

The Cassiar Pant is easily the most comfortable snowboard pant I own. I have had the chance to use them for a week now and here are my conclusions. Comfort: The 4-way stretch is an outstanding feature. I was unsure of how well this feature would function while remaining waterproof and wind resistant. During heavy snowfall all day yesterday, I had zero issues remaining dry and warm all the while the 4-way stretch worked with me- the comfort of the Cassiar pant is noticable. The 4-way stretch retains a bit of rigidity as well, so they don’t become sloppy or bunched up on the lower legs. The fit is slightly loose to accommodate layers. I normally wear a 30, but sized up to a 32 to allow a tad more room for layering on very cold days. The lower cuffs fit over snowboard boots no problem, but are not crazy wide. This cut continues through the lower leg to keep the look consistent with a form fitting pant. The thighs are snug but not too tight. The zippers are easy to use with gloves on and the internal slim line belt is a nice touch. The internal gators don’t have the small metal hook that most of you may be used to, but I personally didn’t have an issue with the bands creeping up or moving around my boots. Waterproof/wind resistance: You cannot beat Gore Tex 3L with a solid DWR rating. I am not sure what the Cassiar is rated at, but Burton AK (which I am very familiar with) is rated at 20,000+ mm DWR and you will never get wet or chilled from wind at that rating. Hopefully Arc’teryx publishes their rating data as this is a solid purchasing metric for the quality of their DWR. Aside from all that, rain beaded and rolled right off the Cassiar pant, snow/ice didn’t stick to the fabric either. There has been no wind penetration or perspiration build up inside the pant. Powder skirt integration: Arc’Teryx, where is this feature? There is no logical reason to leave this out of the design and because of that, I rate the Cassiar 4-stars. All of your jackets with powder skirts need to integrate with all your ski/snowboard pants- period. For deep days, a powder skirt that stays in place is paramount to keeping everything from the stomach to thighs dry. In conclusion, the Cassiar pant are very comfortable, very waterproof, wind resistant and look great with the only draw back being a lack of powder skirt integration. At this point my Sabre pants and my Burton AK pants may start collecting dust as I use the Cassiar Pant more often.

Best ski pants ever!

Finally got back into shape and lost ~40lbs in the spring/summer. Needed to get new ski gear (old Sabre pants just too large). Tried on almost everything from the usual brands (including Sabre, Beta AR, Stinger, etc) and kept coming back the Cassiar. The fit and feel is amazing and superior to anything else out there. Perform fantastic both on trail and backcountry. I am 6.2" 185lbs, and I have the 34 (reg). The tall would have worked as well, but the regular is exactly the right length. Fit is true to size when you allow for the fact that these are a trim-fitting pant. The look is similar to a normal pair of pants, but there is no restriction whatsoever in movement.

Abysmal quality: comfortable but not durable

These pants fit amazing and are super comfortable. However, after just using these pants once and under light activity, it experienced significant tear (literally holes in the pants) to the point of becoming unsusable. This is very disappointing for a pants that claims to be "Designed with specific snowsports features for efficient protection, layering and movement". And dont hope that Arcteryx will offer your a replacement as it classified this as normal "wear and tear" for me. Absurd

hands down the best ski pants I've ever had. On even the coldest days I just wear boxers under these and have never been cold. Worth every cent.

just what I've been looking for for years!

These are the perfect shell pants for me! All other pairs seemed to fit like balloons, which was fairly difficult to move in. The Cassiars are designed with a much sleeker profile in mind, and the difference is huge. They look and feel more streamlined, but are stretchy enough that you don't feel constricted. There is even enough room to layer an Atom Lt pant underneath. best snowpants for anyone who does not want to look like a typical snowboarder bro with baggy pants.

Need 38 Waist!!

I have the Cassiar Hacket and love it (Along with a lot of other Arc’teryx stuf). I would love to buy these pants to go with the jacket but they do not make a size 38! I had to go with the Iser, which is also great, but I would like to have the trimmer fit and stretch fabric of this pant. For some reason they don’t like to make waist sized pants in large sizes but you buy a pant sized XL it’s basically a size 39-40. I’m 6’3”, 230 lbs.

Best fit ski pant, and I’ve tried them all

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a 33 waist and relatively slim athletic build and tried just about every medium/large “slim” fit pant on the market -large too bid, medium too small. The 33 sizing was perfect fit and 4-way stretch outstandingly comfortable. Yes, a big dent in the pocketbook, but expect quality construct and fit will be a keeper for years to come. Wish it was the first pair I tried. Go for it, you won’t be disappointed!

Nearly perfect for resort skiing

The pants are nearly perfect for what I was looking for. (resort skiing). It’s a shell so you may need to layer but it’s worth noting they are pretty slim fit so you may need to try a couple of sizes. The biggest problem is they don’t have a good built in belt AND the pants don’t have belt loops. I have never owned ski pants without belt loops. Odd.

It works.

Excellent ski pant. Used it in Alta, temperatures 5F above to 10F above, without long underwear, kept me warm. Great fit, great look. Only con is that the snap buttons at the waist come undone when I sit down on the chairlift. They should be more heavy duty.

Another call to bring back the short

These pants are great, but I can't buy another pair unless Arc'teryx brings back the short length. Based on how hard it was to find them when they did exist, I find it hard to believe that there isn't demand, especially I would guess in the 30-33 waist size.
