Disgusting – Sent Me a Used, Dirty Item!
I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. The seller sent me a clearly used, second-hand item instead of the new product I ordered. The clothing arrived without any original packaging or tags, simply stuffed into a cardboard box. The cuffs were visibly worn, the fabric had large stains, and to make matters worse, I found trash in several of the pockets. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a blatant disregard for basic standards of hygiene and customer service. I expected a new item, not something that looks like it was pulled from a donation bin. I do not recommend this seller and strongly advise others to be cautious.
Uttet garbage
Powder skirt fell apart completely after a single seasons use. Positively obscene at such a ridiculous price point. Sick to my stomach.
Amazing shell for skiing
Awesome ski shell. Has everything you’d want in a ski shell. It is pretty trim fit looking from the outside but has a good amount of room on the inside for layering. It is super burley with the 80D face fabric. Arc DWR beads like a charm. Has drop pockets. Internal light fleece mesh to keep you warm for resort skiing. Has a built in powder skirt in case you want to use it and it has the integration system for the bibs if you have those as well. I dont use the powder skirt but it’s nice to have it just in case. I use this for skiing and around town on super cold days.
Simple and Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this jacket in 2022. The fit was perfect (6ft / 190lbs) and it has held up to some very abusive wear across Washington, Canada, Austria, Iceland, and more (200 days). The jacket is durable and has shown slight wear at the bottom seam but it is still on track to net another 200 days at least.
Sizing Changes
I own Sabre 2022 in size L that fits me perfectly and has enough room for layering. Unfortunately, the new 2025/26 Sabre in L is too tight in underarms and around the chest, even though I tried it on just wearing a T-shirt. On the other hand, XL is too large around the chest and sleeves are just too long. This is not the first Arcteryx product where sizing changed and where the gear that was perfectly fine, I find not fitting me in the next iteration. Arcteryx, I do understand that you receive customer feedback and make the changes, but it appears, based on other customer comments, that they are not always for the best.
Great skiing jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last yea I have bought a Sabre jacket and it is has been a fantastic jacket! The fit is perfect and I could fit either my atom or my down jacket underneath depending on the weather conditions. I could highly recommend this combination
Sizing is a disaster !
Oh, Arc’teryx, why? Your sizing is a complete mess! An M is now a fitted M, while your L feels more like a baggy XL. You’ve essentially skipped over the true L size altogether! Even your own sizing guide reflects this: UK 38 is listed as an M, but instead of offering a UK 40 L, you jump straight to a UK 42, call it an L, but 42 is an XL in standard international sizing. Why have you abandoned a key size? Even the shop assistant admitted that everyone in store is saying the same thing. How can a global brand with access to so much data on men’s sizing make such a baffling decision? I’m an M in some brands and an L in others, but with Arc’teryx, I’ve always been a reliable UK 40 (L). Now, thanks to your new sizing system a true L is gone—replaced by UK 42 - mislabeled as L. And the sleeves? Don’t get me started. At 178cm with an athletic build—a very average size—the sleeve lengths are ridiculously long. Many others have pointed this out too. Your sizing is not just confusing, it’s alienating loyal customers. Please rethink this. Skipping sizes and offering such inconsistent fits isn’t what we expect from a brand of your stature.
Sabre Jacket Men’s medium
The 5 stars are for initial Quality and fit. Can’t comment on performance yet as haven’t really tested it yet. But every Arcteryx jacket I have ever had hasn’t let me down. I’m 5ft 7inches tall broad shoulders and 34inch waist build. 43 inch chest. Medium fits well. Enough room for a down jacket layer underneath. Collar of jacket fits really well with ample space to hide my face from the elements. Sleeve length is fine. I take a 33inch sleeve in a shirt. The hem of the jacket is quite snug but movement is not restricted due to cut of jacket. My advice is size down one from your normal. To the Arcteryx size guide I was a large. Which I tried last year and it was ridiculously oversized. Overall. First impressions are Good.
Great fit, feels strong
I really like this jacket, its seems extremely durable, it fits great, its comfy, and the hood easily fits over my ski helmet. The material is tick so there is less stretch than some of my other jackets but feels like it will last years. The only thing that lets it down are the touch points, the zipper pulls feel really cheap. I was surprised by this. I wore it in extreme rain for about 2 hours and I was perfectly dry after, its new so no wetting out yet. Breathability seemed pretty good. Pockets work well with a backpack. I would recommend it.
Washing service
I recently purchased the Acteryx Sabre jacket and couldn't be happier with the performance and quality. The fit is perfectroomy enough for layering without feeling bulky, and allows for complete freedom of movement whether I'm skiing, , or just battling nasty weather. This is my second Acteryx and the latest Gore-Tex fabric is rugged yet even more breathable. It's kept me completely dry through heavy snow and icy rain, and the ventilation zips are a lifesaver when things heat up. Every detail feels well thought out, from the storm hood that actually fits over my helmet to the internal cuffs that block out wind and snow. They have upgraded the cuff Velcro for easier use. If you're looking for a high-performance jacket that's equally at home on the slopes or in the backcountry, the Sabre delivers in every way. Highly recommend.
