Questionable RelilanceThis review is for all Yakima trailer hitch mounted multi bike racks.
In a normal trailer hitch, there is a shaft that goes through the entire ball mount guaranteeing that the hitch will remain attached with the trailer to the tow vehicle. Not Yakima.
These bike racks have a crew shaft going into the trailer hitch and then a brass plug going into only one side of the hitch and attached rack. The plug does not go through the entire hitch. One drives off wondering if the rack will come out of the hitch with the slightest bump. I guess we will find out the hard way .
The instructions for assembling Yakima racks are drawings only. There are no written instructions making assembly impossible to figure out if one has assembled the rack accurately.

Does not fit (my) 29er hardtail m-bikes.It might(?) have been able to hold the two 29ers mountain bikes (a Cannondale Lefty & a BMC) if the rack's cradles were adjustable to slide farther apart. Alas, they are fixed in place (by a screw that fits only one hole)!
The reason I awarded it 2 stars: it works well for my Lefty all by itself and it's relatively lightweight.
