Good size, straps too long
I used this bag on my most recent bikepacking trip. I put my daily snacks, phone, and wireless headphones into the bag for quick/easy access. Even when I was riding, I could easily open up the bag pull the phone out and snap a couple of photos without stopping. The size was perfect for these small items. I've bumped down the rating a small amount because of the straps. They were too long to fit the bag securely to the bike so the bag would flop from left to right which required me to constantly adjust it while riding. I would recommend trying to strap to your bike if REI will let you to check out the fit before purchasing. I like the bag as a whole and will keep if for future use, but I'm going to have to get crafty with adding more velcro onto the strap to secure it more snuggly.
Fits my iphone6s plus along with jbl clip speaker
I have another bag with a zipper that is a hassle to access. The velcro top makes this great for access. For shorter rides i fit my small jbl speaker and my phone in the bag and close it on an angle to let more sound out so i can listen to podcasts while riding and still hear traffic, it works perfect. There is also room for a bar and or gels. On a longer ride with a group i would just put my phone in the back jersey pocket and keep the bag for more snacks. Not sure how water proof this is as they also make a water proof version, but i keep a baggie for my phone in there also in case of downpour. I am buying another for my foul weather bike, most likely the waterproof version.
Great bag and a favorite of mine
So I use this bags for rides of 80-100 miles or so, when I just need to bring extra food. Yes, as a few have mentioned, sometimes the bag does slide slightly left or right, but it's easily rectified. However, my bike is fairly new and my top tube is flat on top, so it pretty much stays in place. I can see where this could be an issue with round top tubes but it's not an issue for me. About the right size for several snacks, electrolyte packs and maybe a gel or two. Not really large enough to hold a tube or that'd be about all you'd fit. This works as my 'small' bag when I just need room for some extra snacks so my jersey pockets aren't so packed. It's great for what I use it for!
Excellent for cell phone and foods
This Bag holds my IPhone6 with an extra heavy (OtterBox) case and leaves room for dried fruit/energy bars. While not waterproof it resists dripping and mist well as the top closes securely over the bag. Fits both my road and mountain bikes; secures quickly and well to both types of frames with near level top tubes. Does not fit bikes with radically bent top tubes like some newer full suspension mountain bikes. A great value.
In the way
The bag itself is made with quality material. My problem is that it won't stay in place, and it also gets in the way when I'm pedaling hard uphill. My knees rub against it. Maybe it's my form.
Little pack
This is perfect for my needs. Carries my wallet, cell phone, key fob and a cliff bar. Perfect.
Great bag
This is a great bag, the sizing is just about perfect. I'll focus on the great things and get to the couple complaints(minor) after. As stated before, the size is almost perfect. It will fit both my phone or my wife's phone which both Lifeproof cases which makes them extra bulky, but this has enough area to fit either, potentially both. It has a couple little sleeves you can slide smaller items in. I put my multi-tool in one and a tire boot in the other. The compartment is roomy enough to fit your phone+a bar or snack. If I don't put my phone in it, I can fit a patch kit, multi-tool, Salted Nut Roll, fruit snacks, tire boot, and a Cliff bar comfortably. The straps make it very secure and it doesn't move while riding even when it's loaded down with stuff. The top velcro strap makes it very easy access while riding. My only complaints about this bag is it is so large and sticks up a bit so is just a little bulky, also the top does not completely cover the compartment which gives me concern if it rains as water would be able to fall right into the main compartment. Thus the 4 stars vs 5.
Decent Bag
I use this bag for my long distance rides. It is stable and provides easy access. I've used it on 30-50 mile rides. I could see getting something a little bigger for the longer ride.
Handy bag with lots of room
It fits well on my bike & a perfect place for my phone!
Works and is a great value
Really love this bag. I found a way of securing it to my wide crossbar by putting two of the velcro straps together. Even with only one strap on the bottom it stays in place for me. And it was only 20 bucks.
