My Boyfriend Won't Wear Anything Else Now
Got these for my bf to replace an old suit. He's a pretty narrow framed dude and lots of 28s don't actually fit him (end up at his knees mid swim...). When he tried these on he loved the fit so much he wore them the entire day around the house and I think he even slept in them? He pretty much exclusively wears them anytime we go swimming now, and frequently sports them as regular shorts too. Would LOVE to see more earth tone solid colors so I can buy him more!
Super Bummed
I bought the Fenton 8" board short and they were my absolute favorite swimwear ever 5 stars for sure. However I tumble dried them on low as always do per the instructions but this time the metal eyelet on the shorts burnt a hole right through the material causing an unsightly hole right on the backside. I wish they would have listed them as air dry only. I guess I thought the material was more durable, so beware. They don't even carry the 8 inch inseam anymore so i'm really bummed about this... I'm sure you'll love this board short as much as I did but AIR DRY THEM, or else you risk burning a hole in them...
Good shorts with some shortcomings
The shorts seem to be of good quality. The fit in the waist is good. The inseam length is deceiving; yes, it is 7", but the crotch hangs much lower on these than the typical pair of shorts, so they hang at 8". Be advised that there is only one side pocket. The opening at the legs is quite wide, so if you have thin legs, this might not be a good thing. There are no traditional pockets. Failing to notice this was completely my own fault, but I was hoping these could double as quick errand shorts. All of this said, these do seem like great shorts, so long as the above issues are okay with you.
Summer ready essentials
gifted by prana fenton boardshort is an easy summer essential. the 4-way stretch gives real comfort and movement, quick-dry fabric keeps it practical, and the fit feels secure with the lasso drawcord. clean, functional, and ready for any summer plan.
Great Color, Super Comfortable!
These are perfect for swimming and hanging out at the lake this summer. There isn't a lot of adjustability in the waist, so you have to figure out the correct size. What I mean by that is there are velcro tabs on the waist that come together underneath the waist drawstring. Ideally, you want these two little velcro squares to line up when you cinch up the waist. I think Prana—and many other outdoor retailers—have changed their sizing over the years. In reality, my waist measures 35 inches. But Prana's size 32 is the only size that fits me. Go Figure.
Instant new fav
I was searching for a new pair of trunks/ board shorts and I can say I finally dont need to keep looking anymore. These became my instant new favorite when I tried them on. Fit very snug and comfortably, but not overly snug to where anything was hanging over. I am a very slim/athletic build. I do with Prana offered an inseam 5 inch so I could show off the leg day progress more, but other than that, they are a perfect fit I will be getting more of.
So Nice I Bought'em Twice
I bought 2 pairs of these. I did plan on returning one pair but the colors were so good I kept them both. This is actually the second time I have purchased this style of boardshort from Prana. The first pair are still going strong but I managed to lose enough weight that I needed a size that would fall off my butt with my wallet in the pocket. As for sizing they are true to size. I recommend getting a tailor's tape and measuring your waist size. Don't go up or down in size when ordering, unless you want the shorts extra loose or so snug they sausage your hips (unless you look the model). I'm a 45 year-old father of 2. My waist measures at 31 inches. That is what I bought. It is perfect. The shorts a slight amount of stretch to them. Perfect for over-indulgent meals at the beach-front restaurant or too many drinks while on vacation. Regardless, the shorts won't cut off circulation to your nethers.
Hawaii water shorts
While in Hawaii I wore them everyday I was in the water (snorkel, swimming, standing) and sitting on beach or rocks. Zippered mesh pocket fits credit cards, folded cash and ID. The front is gusseted not open and folded/cinched with velcro and laces. No internal mesh 'underwear'. Flexible, breathable, and durable (sand and rocks abrasion).
Instant new favorite board shorts
I bought these at the beginning of the summer when I was browsing the internet for new board shorts. I wanted great fit with a length that didnt completely show or cover my legs. These fit great and look great as well. I am a true 32. I believe these work great for a slim/athletic fit and I am glad they had the 7inch inseam left.
Watch Your Sizing.
Product looks good. Unfortunately, even after spending time on the chat with PrAna before ordering so as to ensure sizing these are still WAY too large. The recommendation was to "order the same size as your waist measurements". I'm 33" where I wear my shorts so I ordered 33's. These are two sizes too big. No bueno.
