I loved the jacket and I love the vest even more! The jacket is my ski mid layer and general cold weather jacket. But it’s too warm most of the year in SOCAL. The vest keeps my core perfectly warm and cozy without overheating. Light weight, not overly bulky and a great tailored fit that looks casual enough to wear around town. Added to a wool or thicker flannel, I stay exceptionally warm. The inside pockets are a nice touch, the side pockets are well placed and half fleece lined, I do wish there was a napoleon pocket like the jacket. I also wish the Mountain Hardware logo wasn’t screaming out in bold white as much. The rubbery raised monogram really screams advertisement. I’d prefer the MH bolt or a more toned down version. Subtle like a Patagonia label. Overall my new favorite clothing item!!
Girlfriend got me this vest (Black) at Christmas last year. LOVE IT ! Wear it a lot here in Michigan during the 'shoulder season' w/ a hooded sweatshirt or fleece. ONE thing that would make it PERFECT (5 1/2 stars :-) Add a chest pocket - like on the Stretch down jkt & Hoody. And would you add the color (s) of the jackets for next year = 'Volcanic Heather' & 'Wet Stone' I'm looking for another vest :-)
I absolutely love stretchdown but the design of this vest is flawed. The down moves from cell to cell so there are lumps in some cells and empty spaces in other cells. This blue grey color is very ho hum. It also really irks me that they do not make a women's version. The men's does not fit me.
Great vest, I like the material and lack of sheen compared to the Ghost whisperer from patagonia. My only gripe is I wish they would make the Large and XL vest a little longer for tall people or sell a version for fit/tall people. It is form fitting for an athletic build.
Perfect weight with some stretch. Exactly what I was looking for as a stand-alone item for cool weather or added warmth under another jacket. Fit is true, and unlike many other brands, the collar is modest in size and doesn’t get in the way!
Bought both the large and XL to see what fit best. Large was too short, and XL had too much fabric in the back. Really wanted it to work as love the two mountain hardware coats I have
Great vest. Really happy with this one. I like that it doesn’t have ribs… makes it different. Only wish that it had an inner breast pocket and it would be a 10/10
I loved this jacket and this was actually my second vest but once I washed it, it was ruined. I followed the instructions for washing it and it still balled up.
Love that this jacket has the same zipper of the old Stretchdown Hoodie. I also love how fitted it is! I wish the hoodie had the same fit and the old zipper!
Excellent quality and true to size fit. Warm and comfortable. Great option as an outer garment or as a layer addition for those cold days.
