Very comfortable and warm. The seamless toes and cushioning are extremely comfortable and keep my feet happy. As most smartwool products it seems well made and will hopefully last as much as previous products from smartwool.
I first fell in love with Smartwool socks in Fairbanks, Alaska about 30 years ago. I loved the dense thick pile in my boots at -40! These Mountaineer Classic Edition Second Cut remind me of the original Smartwool hunting boot socks that I loved so dearly. There was definitely a change in the Smartwool sock production and the thick socks I loved disappeared from production. I have purchased many Smartwool socks in the past 5 years and have been disappointed in how thin they were and lower percentage of wool than in the past = minimal warmth. Costco's wool socks are comparable at a fraction of the price. Women's socks seem to have become thin fashion instead of warm function at Smartwool. When I saw these new Mountaineer Classic socks, I had to order some and give them a try. To my absolute delight, these socks are thick, dense, and a great boot sock! Perfect for hunting, snow boots, or just warm toes in the house on a cold day. I sure hope that Smartwool continues to offer this type of sock!
My last purchase was exactly what I wanted. Fully cushioned which my 76 year old feet cry out for. Easy to slip on. Very comfortable even when it is in the 90’s here on the front range.
