Smartwool  Hike Light Cushion Low Ankle Socks

Everyday traveling running hiking wandering skateboarding. I traded these for some ""run"" smartwools that were made different, too big/ slipped off w shoe/ not as much cushion then I had used to be getting from smart wool for a decade. I'll have these for 2 or 3 years before getting new ones. Not even because of wear, but I'll lose one and have to buy another pair. I've tried other merino wool active socks, none last for me. I like these hike versions even better than the run. More absorbent and comfortable. I've been wearing these a week now straight, love them, no smell but I'll wash them for dirt. . The runs I'd wash every 2 to 3 days in sink.

Every single day socks. I had been getting the ""run"" ones for the last decade, but they changed the way they're made, and were too big for me/ slipped right off w shoe/ weren't as thick/ sweat in them way more. Warranty Exchanged for these hike ones and much happier. They like the run ones back again, for me. I've tried other merino wool companies and they all wore out much faster (6 months) then the 3 years or so average I have these. Often they don't even wear out, I just lose one and have to buy whole new pair.

The cushioning is thicker than expected, which doesn't work with most of my walking/hiking shoes. I purchased the standard wool hiking sock maybe 3 years ago and love them, just wanted to add some more socks because I wear them all the time. I guess its my mistake. I will need to stick with no cushioning, just the standard sock. These socks are at the level of cushioning I would expect in the next level up of cushioning. Don't like to complain, but thought you should know since your asking.

Best sock to run in. I tried the zero cushion but my foot slips around a bit in my running shoes. These hold tight. I prefer them to the thinner, if this helps anyone else. I'm in Houston (think heat) and it works out for me. I like the no show / low ankle because the tan line you get is the lowest possible. Nothing worse than the ring around your upper ankle with anything higher.

Smartwool socks are the only socks I wear for non-dress shoes. I'm in healthcare and am on my feet all day most of the time. It took years to find socks that keep you cool and are comfortable. These have never smelled and last for years. I also have the slightly higher ankle version as well. These are quite incredible. I think I'm up to 15-20 pair at this point.

I use these socks as my everyday socks, and especially for my (trails) walking. They are about as good as it gets, I think. Just the right amount of cushion and in the right place, comfortable, and have the merino that I like. I do not dry them--just wash on gentle/cold and they seem to do just fine. Some pilling, but not excessive.

This is my 7 pair of socks that I bought that are Amartwool. I tried other and they can not compare to Smartwool. They are a fit perfect and no pain from sock lines. I live in Florida and wear them summer months. They repel the sweat and my feet do not stink or smell. I will buy more and they are worth ever penny.

actually just a smidge too thick and warm for the summer usage I was looking for. I want merino wool socks that A) won't fall down into my shoe and B) won't overheat, and will breathe. These socks are close; I think the thinnest Smartwool makes? I'll take one step thinner if I can find it.

Incredibly frustrating and badly fitting. I've worn the same size of the nearly identical Smartwool socks for years, but this particular one with the extra lip on the back never stays put. Every time I remove a shoe, the heel comes off no matter how carefully I try. So irritating.

I love these socks! The padding is perfect for hiking or long days on my feet. I these are the best and most durable socks I've found with Merino wool. The wool is a must for moisture wicking. Side benefit in a pinch I've been able to re-wear without feet feeling gross. . . .
