These socks did not keep my feet warm in 40 degree weather with no toe vents on my shoes. . When I first saw them I thought they looked small and thin. . I was surprised that they stretched over my feet, but then they were even thinner. I wear 8 1/2 shoes and bought the medium size socks. Perhaps large would not have thinned out and provided more warmth. These socks felt fine on my feet, but I wouldn't call them Cold Weather Socks.
These socks are my favorite to wear while biking in anything below 50F. They're extremely comfortable and not bulky. Unfortunately, within 20 minutes of wearing my first pair, i walked over where the carpet and tile meet (that spot in your house that has small nails sticking up that sometimes snag) and now have a dime-sized hole in the sole of my right sock. Which really sucks. . . probably just bad luck :(
40 degree biking, with a colder win chill. The socks are very comfortable with adequate padding. My feet stayed warm for about 1. 5 hours on the ride, but did eventually get cold. I was not using covers over my shoes, so all in all I was impressed. The color & pattern with the logo are cool. I mean warm!
Great fitting sock, warm, stays up and in place around foot. These are warm - it's been -20 or colder here since I got them, and I'm good with these in some light winter boots whether runningnornkust shovelling snow for an hour or two. Have not ridden or run in them yet, owing to the temps. . .
I have purchased women's, Mens and children's socks over the past few years for biking, hiking, skiing and boarding. Ny family loves them. They are comfortable and the fit is perfect. They look forward to these in their Christmas Stockings each year. I recommend all the products. rate 5 of 5!
Slightly thicker keeps your toes warm, but still has the perfect amount of compression and flexibility. Hasn't bunched and has held up well through several wears and washes already; and hoping for the same SmartWool longevity we've come to expect.
I only wear wool socks for all activities: casual, running, biking, skiing. Most of my socks are Smartwool because of the variety of styles, always comfortable, and fairly long lasting.
Already used on a few rides this winter and they are amazing socks. Great to put on at the beginning of the day, go to work, and then hop on the bike afterwards - love them!
I bought these socks for cold weather winter rides. They are great!!! Helping to kept my feet warm on long winter rides. Light weight, but extremely warm without bulk.
Fantastic socks, light weight, warm, comfortable, stay in place, long wearing, my favorite socks. Would highly recommend.
