Accent yarn kills this cute dress!
I purchased this sweater dress in the ivory/white color a few weeks ago and wish I had heeded the reviews about the additional colors in the yarn used. The “accent colors are pink and mint. They didn’t work for me. I was expecting more autumnal hues, the lighter ones chosen are very noticeable. The fit was boxy and not particularly flattering. The length was fine and the yarn was soft. For reference, I ordered a XS and am 5’6”, 117 lbs and have long legs and a shorter torso. I also ordered the sweater in the same style in the yellow and absolutely LOVE it. So, I would say this item could be loved or hated based on personal preference. That said, it wasn’t what I was looking for and returned it.
Great dress!
I like the little bits of color woven in, and the style is great. I like that it's a little loose-fitting since it's forgiving on those "I'm feeling really bad about myself" days. My only issue. I'm 5'3" and got a small. I don't know how tall your model is, but this dress comes right past my knees. I don't mind, I like the length, but part of me was hoping it would be above the knee as it appears on your (as I now know) Amazonian model.
Little shape to it; runs a tad large
I really liked the thick fabric and color of this dress (I ordered the green), but it has very little shape and looked potato sack-ish despite my curves. It ran a bit large but the next size down would have been too small in the shoulders. For reference I am 5'5", 138 lbs. with an athletic build, and I ordered my usual Medium. The neck was also too high for me to feel comfortable. It's a nicely made dress, it just did not work out for me.
Great materials but a little baggy
This is a beautiful sweater dress, but it does not come with much shape (I ordered my usual small and am 5'5" and 120lbs for reference). The tag can also be a bit itchy which is an issue that I often have with Prana clothes - they are well made and very comfortable clothes but the tag is SO scratchy. This would be 5 stars for me if the fit were different, but you may love it if you want something on the baggier side.
Warm, functional, a pleasure to wear!
This dress totally exceeded my expectations! I'm 5'4, curvy, around 179lbs and got my usual Large (size 12). Wow this dress fit me like a glove. Length hit above the knee, with a little bit of stretch that is expected with a cotton knit. I got the Evergreen color and immediately came back to snag the Spiced color - hoping to get it in time for Thanksgiving! This will definitely be my Holiday fit this year.
Too bad
This is a well made and comfortable…sack. I’m 5’4” 115lbs small hourglass kind of shape and I was drowning in this. I expected it to be slightly oversized but it hit at my knee and had extra fabric on the sides so even trying to belt it didn’t work, lots of extra material around the neck too. I really want to like this because the material is lovely and cozy but it was just ridiculous on me.
My new favorite
This dress is so comfortable and flattering; not too tight, not too loose. I can easily add a layer beneath in cold weather. Paired with leggings and boots, it is perfect for work or an evening out. I even wearing it leggings an tennis for strolling around town. The Spice color is gorgeous. I get many compliments on it every time I wear this dress.
Good staple for winter
I returned the green medium for a spiced (rust color) large. I hope that will work. The green was pretty but too close to black for my needs. The medium was a tiny bit short and snug but I could have made it work. I hope the large isn’t too large and long. The fabric is outstanding. A crew or collared neck option would be nice.
nice sweater but unflattering cut
I loved the quality of the fabric but the shape of it was so unflattering I had to return it. I am 5'3 112. I ordered XS. The fit in the shoulders was perfect but it was so wide though the middle, cut like a ball. It was so comfy I thought about keeping it but it really looked bad. It would be a great maternity dress.
Finally a flattering sweater dress!
I have bought and returned many a sweater dress in my life, and even though I love them, they are not flattering. UNTIL I MET THIS ONE! It is flattering, warm and the material is very soft and cozy. You don't even need a camisole or anything underneath. Will be wearing the heck out of this this fall and winter.
