Nice material and design keeps me cool in the intense CO sun. Can't really comment on durability as at 67 yrs. old I am not inclined to take falls, but they have worn nicely in otherwise tough conditions. My waist measures 34 inches, I bought the 33 and they are still pretty baggy, even though I have pretty solid legs. The waste elastic could have a little more snap, and the material is so light that my phone doesn't stay nicely in the pocket. But the color is great (green) and they actually look pretty good for around my rugged little town. I would buy again, smaller size. I am 5' 8" (used to be 5' 9") and 160 lbs.
I wish they were great but recently quality of Patagonia is down the drain . Five good rides and they are giving up on me :(
I recently bought these pants because I like patagonia for fit, style, and practical application. I bought these in a size 30. I found them to be a little bit of tight fit around the waist but the waist is elastic so this wasnt much of an issue. They definitely seem to be breathable and will be nice on warmer days. I do not wear shorts when I ride and always wear knee pads. I have some sixsixone knee shin guards and some kali knee pads that act as a brace and both sets of pads fit under the pants. I wear slim fit and skinny jeans and these are more of a regular fit, I wouldnt classify them as slim. The pant legs offer a good amount of room for me, but this may be different if you have beefier legs. That being said, I would say I could have had a bigger knee pad on and still would have been fine. One concern I have is how they will stand up to a good crash, I dont know that the material will hold up to a bail and slide or just an OTB experience. I also wish they had a UPF rating associated with them. The sun can be pretty intense in the mid summer here in CO while at elevation.
